I personally think Laura Linney (or Linnely, as Jamie Foxx called her) was robbed once again. Although I still don't know why Squid and the Whale would be in the comedy category. It's the same as Transamerica, a drama with lots of funny moments.

The movie was a very slick production and I think that took away from the overall effect. But, I liked her in it. I do think though that this year there was some stiff competition - -all of which were deserving.

Horrid, horrid fashion this year. I was going to make a "worst dressed" list but I ran out of room.

Biggest disappointments for me were Kyra Sedgewick (loved the top half of the dress, but it was fug from the belted waist down), Faith Hill (horrendous - black ruffles? was she kidding?), Drew Barrymore (sloppy, sloppy, sloppy).

Pam & Mariah? Soooooooo tack.

My faves were:

Marcia Cross - how this redhead pulled off a tangerine number, I'll never know. But she did. A bit too thin, though.

Sandra Oh - loved the way the dress draped over her, the back was awesome. She didn't look frighteningly thin this time either.

Jessica Alba - I like her, she's cute. Loved the dress.

Virginia Madsen - classy, classy, classy.

Men - I really don't care, their tuxes all look the same to me. Johnny Depp looked damn good & not as freaky as usual. My Matthew was hawt as per usual. That's about it.

Sorry if this has already been brought up but what's up with Joaquin Phoenix? Is it just me or was he definitely on something? He looked pasty, sweaty, and glossy eyed during his speech. Definitely not sober. I know there were some rumors going around that he was having major mood swings during the press junkets for Walk the Line and hasn't he had a history of drug or alcohol abuse?

Not only that, but he was hugging on the guy next to him for awhile, which was cool, but odd that it was so public. I also think he is very shy.

I think it's the pattern on the dress. It is something to be appreciated, but not everyone "gets it".

He looked devilish and unkempt to me. That red shirt looked atrocious with his skin and that facial hair...oy. He looked like he was going bowling, not to the Golden Globes.

I think JP looked like he always does, at least in the interviews I have seen him on. I remember one on, I think, Oprah, where Reese had to sit there and coax him and hold his hand. But, he does look stoned - so you may be right

As for Madsen - I do not think she is conventionally pretty in the slightest and her teeth are equinine. But, I think she is a good actress and she does the best with what she has lookswise
