Hit Me Baby One More Time was a hit, doesn't make any of it good.
Any songs you've written would be great. Then we could all witness a perfect song!

I think it hit 60 on the BB Hot 100. But, it is a concert staple and a beautiful nontheless - I even like the "Poet Preist of nothing" line even though I readily admit it is "out there" even for La Nicks!!!

I prefer to keep my own compositions to myself. If I didn't, I'd be out there singing them in some shape or form.

But if you want a perfect song, listen to Storms or Forgive and Forget.

really? It's totally evocative for me, Like I know just what kind of trait she's talking about. I actually don't like that song much, but i like that line a lot.

"Priest of nothing" is just mind-numbingly out-there.

I'm sure. It takes courage to put your stuff out for people to see and critize. It's easy to criticize, but less easy to write a perfect song, i would think.

again, it totally makes sense to me. But I feel like sometimes, *sometimes* boys don't get her lines that totally make sense to girls. *sometimes* *sometimes*

You still think it's "out there," even after she explained that those lines were about the really wonderful songwriters she knows, who have no motivation or drive, and who'd rather just sit around and be lazy, than create something beautiful?

I'd venture to say that "priest of nothing" is the most poetic way of calling someone a "slacker," that there is!

There are no perfect songs, though, only what people like and dislike.

Oh - I like it. I think it is classic Stevie and her poetic nature. I just remember for YEARS thinking what is she talking about

Oh, but your opinions are facts, right? they're the truth, right? that's how it really is, right?

You've caught on, my dear.

"Perfect songs" are not perfect, they're a person's idea of perfect, which is subjective and an opinion.
