I really loved this performance. I like the dynamics between Linds and this Carrie girl, though she seemed quite immobile and wooden in her performance. But it was hip, and far better (to me) than that performance with those four hokey country people he sang with last.

Lindsey stole it for me (biased as I am). Carrie Underwood is an attractive chick with an OK singing voice, limited stage presence, and adequate guitar-playing abilities (is that being generous?) but I must say her fans have offended me with some of their ignorant comments like him being "over the hill" and "ewww he is taking away from Carrie's spotlight" and "I thought it was going to be a woman" and "he can't sing." I mean, shoot, she is singing his song that he wrote when he was, like, a year older than her (and has subsequently become a classic)...I mean, she should be honored that he bothered to come up there and sing with her, even cordially restraining himself from completely blowing her off the stage.

And let me not get into how they said his guitar-playing was "trying to override Carrie's incredible skills." wtf?

Aside from that, it was awesome!! Lindsey amazes me every time. It's like the two-month-book-rant-thread thing never existed right now.

I agree with Nico. it was a good performance. Lindsey was incredible and Carrie was more like a back up singer. She does have a OK singing voice but I would not call her attractive. She needs to stick with singing and not playing the guitar. To put it nice. She sucks at playing the guitar.
Her fans need to buy UTS to her what a great artist sounds like. They have some nerve saying he can not sing. All she is a airhead who took singing lessons!

well, then you saw a different show. she basicly sang the whole song except for one verse. Lindsey was the back-up singer on this one.
He soared on guitar and we didn't hear what he did live. I'm sure he ripped out an earbleeding solo that was edited. I just find that obnoxious.

her singing on the first verse was weak, but she made up during the choruses.

it's an AP photo, in one of those event slide show deals. there may be more that just aren't labeled "Lindsey Buckingham", but i don't have time to shuffle through all 280.

I missed this performance due to the fact it was storming last night, thus knocking my satellite off kilter.

Oh well...

ok, here's the link to the "belgian snippet". Linds comes in about 20 seconds into the clip.

Yes, but let's keep things in perspective here. For one, it's a fact that when it comes to guitar skills Carrie Underwood is miles below Lindsey Buckingham. Some of those comments are way off base.

Come on people, how can we take remarks of Underwoodkiddies seriously? That's just a bunch of 13 year-olds that relate to prefab-idols. Not people who are interested in art or popculture. They just wanna scream "carrie" and dream about being her. No problem, let them have their party.

You are right. Let them keep dreaming. Carrie Underwood will soon fade out of the music scene, but Lindsey will always remain in the spotlight and remain a true icon in the music industry.
