This willfully blind worshipping, whereby all analysis, weighing, sifting, comparing & criticizing are recoiled from, is completely alien to Christine's style & musical signature.

This goes for blind idolators of Chris, Lindsey, Stevie, Peter or even John: You're not *more* of a fan by refusing to analyze or criticize or put into context. You're just a more ridiculous fan.

Now this is all my opinion, naturally. Others might feel totally different about it all. In fact, I have a sneaking suspicion that some definitely do.

David, oh David. You're so analytical. While Christine is, hands down, my favorite, these past few years, I'm NOT afraid to say something negative about her.....here you go....I've never cared much for Warm Ways, or Only Over You, or Mystified. They're okay songs, but I don't love them.

You always want me to go on, ad infinitum, about WHY I love Chris. The following is from your next paragraph:

See, THIS is why I love her. Because it's NOT about fanaticism, about some idiot singer's PERSONALITY, over the quality of their work. What you see, is what you get. The fact that she could mix in, as my next door neighbor, only endears her more to me. The fact that I would be very nervous, meeting her, maybe has something to do with being a huge fan, since 7th grade. When I don't follow FM, I usually follow alt-country. Inane crap like...."how they dance", just isn't important to me anymore(actually is a major turnoff). Give me a nice voice, doing a nice song, and I'm happy. When a bunch of extraneous bull**** gets involved, I lose interest pretty quickly.

I love her. I don't worship her. Worship is for gods. I'm not real big on that stuff!

And, as is often the case, for the past few months, I've had family staying at my house. I don't know about you, but when someone is talking to me 24/freaking 7, "I" find it hard to really come up with a decent response, trying to block their incessant blather out. So, I might opt for a, Bah, bah, bah!

Would that I could, I, once upon a time, might have been as analytical as you. I killed that guy. He just thought too much. He died a very painless death!

Couldn't agree more. I have a friend who idolized an artist (not a FM one) for many years and she was completely obsessed. It got to such a ridiculous point that when he made a couple of albums that she didn't like - not for "objective " artistic reasons but because she thought were inferior, she almost wanted to throw away her old records. Now that's a totally childish behaviour.
It sooo gets on my nerves seeing fans acting like the artist is creating music (or whatever, depending on the art) just for their sake and get totally nuts over something or, on the contrary, disappointed over a not so good record, as if it were a "boyfriend" who let them down

"Gypsy" is still one of my fave Stevie songs.
As far as them being friends, what an incredible mentor Christine might have been for someone like Stevie when they first got together. Of course, I'm sure all the garbage going on back then probably didn't help.
And count me in in the mansion in Kent. If that ain't heaven, perhaps we could at least see it from there.

I'm the only Ledgie that has a mom who buys anything pertaining to Mac or Stevie at garage sales, whether I already have the item or not. This also makes me the only Ledgie that has this:

That reminds me of how I stand apart from other ledgies: Fleetwood Mac played at a venue about twenty minutes away from me on the 2004 tour (down in Laguna/Irvine) & I just blew it off!
