It is a beautiful pic and I love the Stevie lyric you posted with it.

Oh, man. I'm trying to keep people from getting hurt, but I'm the childish one. Fine. I give up trying to make you see what's wrong with this game. I guess you were never one of the ones who got made fun of in high school, but some of us were, and I don't want to retun to that mentality. If you do, well, I have to say it surprises me.

P.S. I do hold out the hope that, if this does continue, people will at least be ashamed to act like jerks after reading this thread, and so all we'll see is the sycophantic stuff. While lame, at least it's not hurtful.

Oh nancy, I hear what you say and I understand your position but I just want to ventilate another side of the coin. It's just that it does NOT have to be a game where people get hurt if you play it with the right mindset. It's just a reaction from me on the fact that you said " oh Look at me the most popular guy/girl on the board-gag."

That's not my way of looking at it and I think that is OK.
Same thing for your look at it and your concern for people getting hurt.

PS: I WAS made fun of in highschool. But it strengthened me. Like it hurt me too.

I spent many years hurt from the way I was treated in high school, but eventually it strengthened me as well.
But the years of crippling self-doubt and insecurities are exactly why I dislike the idea of this game. Not for myself, but for others.

You view it as a harmless lark, riffing on people's online personas. But some people haven't built up "cyber identities." It's not an act for them.
I don't know about you, but despite my use of a screenname, I'm am what I am -- online or offline.
So it's easy to say that we have tough skins and we can take it... but can we safely say that about everyone? Simply because a person volunteers for the game, it doesn't mean that the potential for them getting hurt deeply isn't there.

Is any game really worth the risk of hurting someone?

I didn't really want to get involved, but I totally agree w/ this.

Why do I get the feeling I would love hanging out with you, Mr. Jake?

(see? you'd think I was serious about my distress until I added the winkey, right? smileys do have their use!)
Totally off subject but your smilies change the entire tone of your post. It is facinating to me how useful they can be.

Ohhh boy.

Can I just ask, are only the people who are involved going to get voted? So those who said " no" are safe from this??

Exactly! In fact, I think if you use smileys, it shows you're actually BETTER in communicating because you add so much more to a message.
