The thing is, if they go away and retire quietly, we won't see them. I WANT to see them. What makes me sadder than seeing aged celebs is having them quietly fade away with less than a whimper, with a soundless disappearance. I hate that.

I always understand when the families want them to leave the limelight with their dignity intact, but it nags at me. I respect their privacy, but I want to know how it ended. Did they succumb to dementia? I want to take that last journey with them. I mean, it wouldn't be the best thing for them, but I've always been selfish and possessive and it would be the best thing for me.

Yes, seeing stars performing with dementia like Glenn Campbell and Tony Bennett was sad. Seeing Lindsey look so weak in the hospital bed after his surgery was sad and shocking, especially when we had no way of predicting what kind of recovery was in his future.

But just seeing them old and slow and voiceless . . . well, it's sad, but not as sad as the alternatives, for me.

Every 6 months or so, there are photos of Ringo and Paul McCartney going out to dinner and they hug outside of the restaurant and even after all that has happened, there's a part of me that just wants that for our crew. I want the hugs. Even though I know you guys will scoff at how phony they are.

I didn't want a retired Christine, happy, ensconced with her dogs away from my view. I wanted her slogging it out on stage, voice gone, unable to play keyboards, but up there with people I used to imagine she loved. I want that fantasy. I want it before death takes that last bastion of hope away.

I want them looking at each other with familiarity, tolerance, loathing cloaked by greed. I don't care.

Oh, that moment in SYLM when Lindsey says "yeaaaaah" and Christine points at him. It hurts to think I'll never see that again. Bring it on. Canes and all.

Exactly why I supported them in 2018. Yeah, Lindsey-Stevie whatever…Mick, John, and Christine were there. If that’s the last time I get to see those three, so be it. I’m unfazed by the idea of those three with different guitarists and will always go see them if they’re together.

What Steve said. I went to really see Mick, John and Christine. I understand what you're saying.

I get it, but I'd rather have one final album, where all of their ailments and limitations can be worked out privately and then swathed over by whatever technology helps them still sound good. Lindsey Buckingham-Christine McVie was a joy to get. They both sounded great and I think they can do it again. I now Stevie could, too. So, rather than watching them hobble onto stage and croak into microphones, I have my heart set on the impossible--one last Mac blockbuster.

Just listen to Stevie on Maroon 5’s latest disc. She sounds great!

Oh yes, I'd prefer an album to a concert. I just think that the latter is more likely, even if both are only pipe dreams. But yes, that was the dream as soon as we heard Christine was returning: that the 5 of them would make new music together. I'd like more than an EP, but on the other end of the spectrum, we'd have to thwart Lindsey's desire for at least 15 songs. I'd settle for 6, 3 from each of them.

But it's harder for Stevie to work with Lindsey in the studio than it is on the stage. Leaving her demos with the band and staying out of the studio isn't really an option either, since she'd be unhappy with the finished product and cause a fight, initiating ultimatums at the finish line. I don't see how an album could ever materialize. Maybe she'd let Dave Stewart produce her songs and Lindsey and Christine would just sing on them.

I'd a hundred times rather have a BuckVie II than any concert(that's GONNA be lame). Those songs will last forever.

I seriously doubt(and hope) that Stevie and Lindsey never record together again. It's over.

At this point, I think I would rather remember them as they were. They're just too old now.

I’ll go but only if we get Landslide too, a Dave Matthews cover, and I want to hear Stevie’s take on yet another Peter Green song. Oh, and only seat 1. I need an aisle.
