If you could cite a specific post of mine where I did this, I'd be grateful. I could go back & edit the offending statement & then apologize to the recipient. David, I can't speak for the others but when I mentioned the thing about being put down for not knowing a certain fact about the band I wasn't referring to you. It was another poster on the board who was very rude to a poster who made a mistake once. So I am sorry for that misunderstanding on my part because that certainly wasn't directed at you. I just saw where you made comments about not liking newer and younger fans and I consider myself both (I'm 19). Unless when you mean younger you are speaking of posters under 17 or 16.

The most annoying are the chiffon heads. I can say that because I am proudly one of them and I annoy myself. It's our job and we represent Stevie well.

However, I am personally more annoyed by the Greenies. I've seen it become almost a trend to say, "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" with people describing favorite bands. I just read where Paul Rodgers said that and it bummed me out.

The group I get annoyed with isn't on the list, but it is a sub-group of the Chiffonheads and the Buckyheads I suppose.

Sorry, but the Shippers usually annoy me. Not so much when they talk about how they think Stevie and Lindsey should get back together romantically or how they are secretly seeing each other blah blah blah....

But when they talk about song interpretations and lyrics. Yes, Stevie wrote Dreams about Lindsey, and yes, Lindsey wrote GYOW about Stevie, and they were both big hits. But they both can and have written about other people and other things. Not every song Stevie writes is about Lindsey and vice-versa. They broke up 30 years ago, and Stevie can't even remember why. Get a grip shippers.

Also, people who are supposedly fans and spell Lindsey's name Lindsay. That really irks me to no end. Pick up an album or a CD or read something about the band. It's spelled Lindsey.

Correct spellings of other band members' names who consistently get misspelled:

Billy Burnette (note trailing 'e' )
Danny Kirwan (not "Kirwin", "Kerwin" or "Kerwan")
Bekka Bramlett (note LACK of trailing 'e', note first name spelled with 'k's, not 'c's)
Bob Welch (not "Welsh" )


Also, those people who refer to Christine McVie as "Christy". She's NEVER gone by "Christy"...EVER! Either "Chris" or "Christine", that's it.

Some of the MTV 'Week In Rock' interviews with FM from around 1987-1990, would often have Christine's name listed as "Christie McVie." That used to annoy me to no end.

As far as Lindsey's name, I think most people know a "Lindsay" and, out of habit, are used to typing or writing it with an "a" and not an "e," and that's why that misspelling crops up so often.

I can't tell you how many times I have to stop myself from typing "Stevie" when addressing a "Steve."

When I opened this I immediatley went to click on shippers then realized that option wasn't even there. But I'm with ya on that one.

I, too, get annoyed when people say every single Stevie song is about Lindsey - it's maddening.

I do that all the time too, esp at work.

But once in my life I actually got to use it. My best friend in high school's little brother was named Steve. I guess he was probably 13 when I was about 16, so not that little, relatively speaking. But Joe's parent's called him Stevie, so once I heard that, that was it! He was Stevie to me from then on.

I know of no shipper who asserts every song is about the other. Rather, most shippers I know - and there are few left around here - willingly acknowledge that many songs are about other people or things a la Illume, While Lotta Trouble, Leather and Lace, Rhiannon, etc. But, ya gotta admit, when La Nicks says not all but a bunch of songs on TISL are about LB, and TD and others on SYW are about him, it supports the shippers' point

As for the speculation, it can get annoying. But, I suppose one must remember that many things are never discussed on this or any other board I know. Also, I have seen things with my own two eyes that people say I didn't see and they were not even there

So, I take it all with a grain of salt.

I dont know what to make of all this. The way I look at it is if the song moves me, I dont give a **** if Peter Green, Bob Welch, Lindsey, Stevie, Christine, or whoever else recorded it. I dont like to limit myself in that way.
