It hurts to admit, but I actually never got my hands on Gift of Screws, so any of those demos would be great. I don't want to be too greedy though, so particularly "Bleed to Love Her", "Miranda", "Try for the Sun" and "Something's Gotta Change". And then I'd give my first born for the "Everybody Hurts" featuring Lindsey on guitar, because the melding of my two favorite bands is almost more than I can handle! Thanks in advance! :-D
now I want your first born or an IOU if they don't exist yet

Down Endless Street... you may already have it but this is one of Lindsey's awesome b-sides from Tango in the Night, obviously intended for the solo album that Tango replaced.

Wow, I'm loving this stuff! Obviously, I've heard all of the songs that ended up making appearances elsewhere, I even have heard a handful of others, but a few are completely new to my ears, which is a real treat. So bizarre to hear "Say Goodbye" without Stevie!

Do we know any recording info about "Deep Dense"? The second I started playing that one, I was into it. Love the guitar part, the lyrics tell quite the interesting story (if it's about what I think and I think it is) and it's really catchy. I also love the bass line, which has me wondering who the bassist is on this. It doesn't really go with the style I've discerned from Lindsey playing his own, it actually sounds pretty McVie, but maybe that's because I want it to?

One more question... is the GoS "Bleed to Love Her" the same exact vocal track as what ended up on "Say You Will"?

Thanks again for uploading all this wonderful stuff tdwiner!

Other than Miranda, Deep Dense was my favorite GOS song. That could very well be John McVie on bass.

Actually, Javier indicated that some of the lyrics for Deep Dense are Stevie's old lyrics and Lindsey borrowed them. If that's true, that's even more reason why the song should have been released by FM.

This is what Javier said:

http://fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/qa/j...acheco_qa1.htm

Yes, I was very critical of Stevie, but her songs did move me, I didn't try to block her creativity--I did think she had a talent for expressing honest sentiments. Her first FRITZ songs have stayed with me. In fact, one song in particular I have sung over and over again for the past thirty years--country and simple, but right on the mark. The lyrics go thusly: "Well there's a deep sense of a funny kind of love, ...when you look back on the way it really was. Kind of like a marriage after it has broken up; Well, there's a deep sense of a funny, ...kind of love." She was speaking of the coming downfall of FRITZ. See, we were writing love and break-up songs to each other way back in 1969-70. This didn't just start with the Mac. If you really want to uncover Stevie Nicks, you need to look at the culture of her family, her parental roots, etc. In terms of her whole life, my impressions are but a brief window.
