...we're simply debating and defending our points of view. You shouldn't view that as an attack at all, it's not personal. It's okay to have differing opinions as long as everyone's respectful, which I think they have been thus far.

I broke my arm yesterday. The stairs in my house are extremely steep (which I hate), and it's not uncomman for people to miss a few. Even if I miss one or two I usually land on me feet. Not so this time. I have an appointment this week for the orthopedist. At least I'll be allowed to pick which color cast I want.

OMG, that's terrible! Hope it's not a catastrophic break...

Stairs built according to international building standards should have minimally acceptable tread depths and riser heights, and they should be more-or-less level. Do you own your house or are you renting? If you are renting, check the dimensions of those stairs and see if they are in conformance with the local building codes (for some reason they are regulated on a local level which are generally, but not always, compliant with international standards). If the stairs are illegal or not up to building codes, then your landlord had better have a nice liability policy on this house! Good luck!
