Stevie looked terrific. The band played great and the mix was not messed up. Poor Stevie, her voice was quite rough at times on Secret Love. No real complaints on Landslide. I'm ready for a new single. I hope she makes the rounds on the late night talk shows. We need a tour schedule if there is going to be a tour. People are making their summer plans and budgeting.

I haven't watched it yet but I did tape it. I have enjoyed reading everyone's viewpoints for the last 2 hours in addition to some great phone conversation with another Ledgie.

Landslide was a little better in regards to the nervousness, but she sounded congested. But as I mentioned in the Vegas thread, the only time I heard congestion in her voice was during Landslide.

IMO, Stevie is at her best when she's singing to her fans. Youde think after all these years it wouldn't matter who she's singing to, but clearly it does.

She looked amazing. Maybe I'm easy, but I liked both performances. A wee-bit of a rough start, but she got going and I love the live sound.

I don't get why anyone is not happy about the Secret Love performance. Just watched it again and she sounds great.

Well I just watched it and I must say, Secret Love wasn't as bad as I imagined. She is still singing it too low and yelling too much. Landslide was really great tho!

She was a bit off at first, probably nerves, but I really liked both performances. She looked great despite the fact she's still sick. I think she was awesome.

i love this post:

MOONLIGHT is the popular hit off this record - i know because i play it constantly and even sing it to people in the bars of Silverlake - it's a very peculiar and hard to categorize song - just as Stevie's first hits were - as is Italian Summer, which i just played for a friend whom i pulled into the car and played LOUD off my new IYD cd....expose this record to people and it will take off...Christ! must we remind people that FLEETWOOD MAC took exactly ONE YEAR to reach #1!!!!!!! No one remebers that Warm Ways was actually the 1st single off FM and it flopped.....IYD is a great record - that's the important thing...

I thought she seemed a little nervous too.

It reminded me of something she said before performing several years back -
I think it might have been before doing Rhiannon at the piano for
VH-1 but "don't quote me on that."
Anyway, she said, "And if you don't think I'm just - - SHAKING at the knees???
You're WRONG!"

(Or something very close to that.)

I bet it was a combination of her knowing that she's not quite up-to-par yet,
and it being live. (Considering how many millions of people were watching.)

Come to think of it - - Has Stevie ever "gone solo" on live tv with millions of people watching, before this?

I was finally able to see the videos on YouTube. Not the disasater I was expecting. She didn't sound great on Secret Love, but she definitely got better as it went, and it didn't seem to languish as much as some of the other live versions they've done. I actually mostly enjoyed it. With Stevie in full voice, it would have been excellent.

And Landslide was pretty close to awesome, notwithstanding that she still sounds a bit congested. I don't think there's any question as to why it's her go-to TV performance song - it's memorable, always goosebump-worthy, and something she still sounds great on after all these years.

She started did start early, but maybe that was a show request to save time?

I was expecting to be horrified. Aside from some shaky vocals, I thought it was a good performance. She did less miming, and that is a good thing. Way to pimp yourself out, Mama. Sell that record!!

Thumbs up

Yeah, I thought Secret Love sounded rough , but she sounded good on Landslide. She still sounds like she's still not fully recovered from her sickness, but she did look really happy, probably because she knows how popular DWTS is & how many people will be watching. It's good PR for her. I hope the rumors about her being on AI are true. Then I'll catch her on that, too.

I have a picture set as a background on my work computer of Stevie last night on DWTS doing her hand wave. If you google Stevie Nicks on DWTS, you'll see alot of pics from the show of her last night.
