If, as I dream, both Lindsey and Stevie's albums were to be released on the same day, which one would you listen to FIRST!?!?!?

Wow. Suddenly Mama's getting her bum handed to her on a silver platter. And people say that he's a failure compared to her
Although Stevie was my "gateway drug" to Fleetwood Mac, I ultimately prefer Lindsey's work to Stevie's. Maybe because I've always preferred Folk/Real music over the big production and showyness Stevie's music tends to be. That being said, I'll never stop loving her music. I'll just always go for the acoustic/accapella version over the studio.Retrospective: May have spoken too soon lol. Last edited by Silver Springs; 11-07-2010 at 11:31 AM.. |

Lindsey. I guess if Stevie's album came out notably before his I would listen to that first, but I would prefer to listen to Lindsey's. Stevie solo stuff has never blown me away, to be honest. It's quite hit or miss for me. Much prefer her early Fleetwood Mac stuff.
Lindsey's albums are almost always incredible. |

I'd have to say Stevie's for the sole reason that we've gotten 2 albums from Lindsey since her last release, and I'm anxious to hear what Stevie has to say, and how she's evolved.
If this were a question of if I had to chose between seeing Stevie's tour, or seeing Lindsey's... hands down, Buckingham would win. ![]() |

I'd say Lindseys the winner becoz when you buy a Lindsey album you know what your getting. Stevie depends so greatly on her collaborators.
However While stevies solo stuff has ben less than impressive, I dont think anything Lindsey has ever done has come close to how amazing Belladonna was. Its like they were squeezing the last of the greatness from the 70s. Lindsey is amazing as a solo artist... However, I think doing big albums isnt in him anymore, his production on SYW is so dated. |

I would listen to Stevie's first. I am interested to see if her sound has changed at all. I like some recent songs of hers that really interested me...
Sweet Girl. I love the melody.. I know this is old now.. but still new compared to 80's material... Illume ... Great atmosphere and feel.. I hope she goes this sort of direction... Hoping the feel wasn't all LB. Thrown Down.. Love the direction of this tune.. Everybody finds Out... With the exception of the clothespin on her nose voice... this is a great tune... nice harmonies w/ LB.. Direction I don't want... Silver Girl, Destiny Rules, Goodbye Baby, Say You Will...

Bella Donna bores me. Her other album, Wild Heart is superior. And yet...nothing she's done solo is quite on par with Out of the Cradle. But that's the beauty of opinions... |

But I definitely agree Stevie's also never come anywhere near Out Of The Cradle. Hell, Fleetwood Mac itself might not have. |

Hands down, Stevie Nicks. She hasn't put out an album since 1994! I liked Lindsey's first 2 solo albums, the rest are fair to midland. Two songs, Murrow & Down On Rodeo I really loved though.

And that is why I am excited about Stevie's new record and would most definitely play it first due to Stevie actually writing songs real time with a collaborator in the same room organically speaking. It's a refreshing change of direction for her, one in which we have all dreamed she would do with Lindsey, and Dave and her sound so thrilled with the results. I think we could be in store for her most musically ambitious outing ever and easily best since Bella Donna. Last edited by Christopher; 11-03-2010 at 10:55 AM.. |

Depends if California's Prop 19 passes. If so, I'll probably listen to Lindsey's first. Plus, the chances of me buying Lindsey's album before I buy Stevie's is pretty large. I'm still a couple of Stevie albums behind in my "completist" goal. (But, then, the ones I'm behind on are compilations not albums of all new material)
Um, Louie...I agree with you on principle, but, to me Stevie's TISL was as close to a "perfect" Stevie Nicks album as she's ever released...as was Lindsey's Out Of The Cradle. But, no way OotC outdoes Then Play On or Mystery To Me...or hell, even, *gag*, *choke* Ru.... *hack*...Rum... *wheeze*...Rumours. No one will EVER...get that? EVER convince me that Wild Heart is superior to Bella Donna...or Rock A Little...damn...even Street Angel. The only album WH is superior to is The Other Side Of The Mirror, which is the ultimate abomination of Stevie's catalogue.
