Default Ok! I have a funny feeling!

Ok Ledgies, I was just thinking and it dawned on me! What do you want to bet that one of the songs on there is definitely Blue Water It could be a prequel to the Wide Sea of Sargasso. I just really think, with every fiber of my being, that this is one of the ones from the vault??? Any thoughts?

I just listened to this song for the first time a few days ago. It'd certainly fit in with the theme of the album (so far as we know), and Stevie's current voice would sound gorgeous on it. There's a certain wisdom to the song, and for her to release it now would be wonderful.

Yeah and it would all tie in rather nicely from the snippets we have been fortunate enough to obtain thus far. We would have the mystic, rocking, poetic and self reflective Stevie all in one album. Every Stevie album always tells a brilliant story and I can't wait to unravel this new chapter in her/our lives.

It's a great song vocally and musically... but I think the lyrics are kinda retarded. "I wait for the sound of my gypsy..." WTF????? It's almost like a parody of something she would write.

Oh and another thing, I know Dave Stewart is a great producer but I am fearful of him co-writing with Stevie I hope it doesn't deter/detract/stifle the story she wants to tell! I guess that is just me being selfish but........

I understand what you mean, it almost sounds trite but I think the structure is wonderful and I love the innocense of the song. It has that hint of naivete that I love about some of her earlier work though.

There is the possibility that she might steal from "Blue Water" for the new song. She's done it before.

Thats exacally what i always thought that was about. Also, whenever i tend to picture a Gypsy, they have those beeds and bracelets that sound like wind chimes when they move.

I dunno... I'm not sure of the vintage, but I suspect it was prior to Robin's death. It sounds like something recorded during the Bella Donna sessions to me. Anyway, irregardless, the lyrics are so banal- not something that a 60-something woman would be singing. Perhaps if she kept the title and music but just changed the lyrics, she would have a really good song.

Oh, she's sung much worse in her old age:

"don't take me to the tower, and take my child away..."

"you'll go down to the laundromat... maybe your sister is there"

That makes perfect sense to me after having watched The Tudors where King Henry VII takes more than one of his queens to The Tower of London and takes their children away.

At least she didn't write that.
