Scariest movie you’ve ever seen

I'm very partial to The Gift... but perhaps that's because I'm a Southern chauvinist . To me it has everything: a stunningly beautiful setting, proper atmosphere, very real characters, a believable but mystical plot, superb casting (I can watch Katie Holmes die again and again and again...), a tangled and sordid deception ridden plot, it's scary without being gory, and most of all... it's intelligent. Scary/Horror/Thriller/Suspense movies this day and age are all so dumbed down and sophomoric. This one is a notable exception in my book.
