From your list, though, it's a tie between Letterman & Oprah. They're both living. But there really wasn't anyone like Johnny Carson. (and typing that made me realize how old I really am...)

there are so many variables in deciding a favorite talk show host so I'll have to think on this one. I mean, are we talking overall (past, present and future), etc etc...it's b/w Ellen, Oprah and Rosie.

ok. i swear to god jenny jones and ricki lake raised me in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. i was home alone for hours after school and i watched them every. day. and laughed my ass off.
