Default More Costco appearances for Mick

ROCK ICON MICK FLEETWOOD’S NEW LABEL ISN’T A RECORD!

Costco has invited Mick Fleetwood, the drummer and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, to participate in an extended tour of Costco stores to meet with fans and personally introduce them to his wines.

Costco has invited Mick Fleetwood, the drummer and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, to participate in an extended tour of Costco stores to meet with fans and personally introduce them to his wines. Fleetwood will appear at 29 events in Costco stores in March, May, June and July throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California and Northwest Nevada. During last season’s tour of 26 stores throughout Southern California, attendees reached into the thousands at each location and Fleetwood set records for celebrity events.

Mick Fleetwood personally selects the wineries for his signature vintages and collaborates directly with professional award winning winemakers to create the finest blends. “I strive to create approachable wines,” says Fleetwood, “Wines that I like, that my friends like, and most importantly wines that most people appreciate. My signature wines are mellow and easy to drink. Wine should always be fun, never challenging. When everyone I know tells me they love my choices I know I’ve got a great wine.”

After yearsof critical acclaim and sales in Hyatt Regency Hotels, gourmet supermarkets and other establishments offering fine wines, Fleetwood’s wine label had its Costco debut in September 2006. That debut was so successful, the program expanded through Southern California and Hawaii to be carried in a total of 31 stores. Now Northern California is embracing Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar and the wine will be available in select stores beginning in March.

Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar began in 2001 with his single vintage 1998 Cuvee, and has since grown to seventeen vintages; ten of which have sold out. This June, Fleetwood was honored with a “Best Wine” mention by the Wall Street Journal in a blind taste test of 50 celebrity wines.

Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar was honored this February with two Bronze medals from the 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The judges awarded these medals to the Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar 2004 Merlot and the Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar 2005 Riesling.

For the March debut of Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar in Northern California, Costco is making available five wines – the 2005 Chardonnay, 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Petite Sirah, 2004 Merlot and 2005 Sauvignon Blanc. Costco members will be able to purchase all five wines in a gift box, or the 2005 Chardonnay and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon as individual bottles.

Thanks for posting. It looks like he's going to all Costco's in Northern California. I'll have to go see him at one of them.

I think it is so funny that you can stop in, meet Mick, swing around and get 600 rolls of toilet paper, not to mention that 10lb. container of poultry seasoning you've always wanted. And, don't forget the 30lb. bag of Jose Ole Cimichangas!!!
