While I really like them both, I'm going to pick Gone With the Wind. Casablanca is a real heavy drama with some action, while Gone With the Wind has drama, comedy & action all rolled into one. I know it is really long, but this is necessary for the movie, to tell the complete story. When watching it, I found myself laughing at Scarlett & sometimes, you just have to have a good laugh now & then. And Humphrey Bogart is probably my favorite actor though; I've even named my toy poodle, Bogart, after him.

Frankly, Scarlett, I don't give a damn

I love Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable in "Gone With the Wind."

I loved Carol Burnett's version too. The skit where Scarlett makes a gown out of the green drapes and the curtain rod is still attached at shoulders Now that is a classic.

Definitely GWTW for me. I've been addicted to it since I first saw it when I was around 15.

Casablanca, because it's a sharp, unforgiving melo, that put the basis for every future movie triangle.

I like a lot GWTW but I would have preferred the baroque and dark element in George Cukor's hands.

I enjoy both in different ways. Casablanca is the better film, IMO; GWTW is more iconic.

Well, frankly my dear I DO give a damn, so.. GWTW is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

but "I won't think about this now. I'll think about it tomorrow" (how many times she said this phrase in the movie? Interesting it was in whole different situations...)

Interesting.. we will never know if it would have been that success, if Cukor had finished the movie.

'Casablanca'!

Both are great movies, but, although 'Gone With The Wind' is a wonderful show, full of great performances, beautiful sets and amazing wardrobes, I can never really like any any of the characters enough to really care about what happens to them. 'Casablanca' on the other hand brought tears to my eyes.

I'm with you. GWtW is too out there to really identify with it.
