Public transport in Toronto is actually really good - the streetcars are the best. But I live a 25 minute walk from the heart of downtown, and a 7-minute streetcar ride from it, so I may be spoiled. But compared to Montreal, you can get around a whole lot faster in Toronto by PT. The metro system in Montreal, however, is really extensive and great in the winter.

That being said... I'd never give up my car. I don't drive it everyday, but I love the freedom it gives me. I can take off anytime for a road trip, do groceries so easily (and take my friend grocery shopping), and just do anything spur of the moment - like go to the beach (half hour drive away).

Unfortunately it does get pretty dirty. Tons of tourists come here and somehow the streets wind up strewn with litter. Its also partly due to the wind we get which can blow trash, put out for pick up, around the streets. Plus the sand build up from sanding the streets in winter.

I don't even care about a close spot anymore! A spot would make me so happy.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, but it's just interesting to me.

Isnt it charming how cramped it is in there too. I actually still have some napkins I took from there the last time I ate there. Very nice priniting on them. I think its the oldest continously operating resturant in the country.

I actually like the New England accent more than the New York one.
