I mean I am all for working with the quality stuff you have. I certainly have done that. But, some of the utter crap like self made SHELLCRAFT they come up with makes me want to hurl.

I say do not buy it until you can buy what you really want because if you buy crap, you will never replace it until that crap breaks.

Of course not. You should get the best mattress you can afford. Same for any other essential. But, do not buy art or accessories unless they are what you really want. Filler crap never works in the end.

Shellcraft? *shudders*

That's right up there with wicker as the most heinous thing one can put in their homes.

You know what else I find repugnant? Tatouage. My mother put that **** all over her kitchen and I can't even go into anymore for fear of losing my eyesight permanently.

That's why my apartment is not furnished. I only have a brass bed in my bedroom. Is a brass bed bad, style experts?

Well, it applies to sofas and other nonessential stuff. I think if you find a simple sofa for a reasonable price - GREAT. But do not just because it is cheap haul out and buy some awful floral print thing that can NEVER be nice looking. Experience tells me people hold on to that crap for forever.

I think wicker (white only) is okay on a porch or in a pool house or a gazebo. But, it is not really an indoor thing.

OY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I do not mind a true mural in, say, a dining room or in a child's room. I also no not mind a fresco if you live in an approriately sized home with 14 or more foot ceilings.

I'd say brass is bad... but if the right person is in the bed does it matter?
