Edit: I'd pass out if she waltzed onto the stage like a lush to the opening of that song.

I've always thought Outside the Rain (my #2 fav song by Stevie) is a perfect opener, but Sable on Blonde would be a great opener too - I'd love to see that.

I'd stick with Outside The Rain, a perfect opener. Although I agree with Curtis that Rooms On Fire would be a good one.

I don't see the need for opening with a rocker or highly upbeat song like Enchanted. I just think that's too formulaic. I think the opener just needs to capture the essence of the performer.

It's no worse than Sable on Blonde and it is a hell of a lot better than Than Talk To Me, which is just lame and boring all around.

Stevie thought about opening her last few months of Rock a Little shows with "The Nightmare," & believe me I was all for it. I thought that would have been perfect.

Now I want her to open with "Sweet Betsy from Pike" or "Twilight on the Trail."

An extended drum intro segueing into The Wild Heart She could totally rock this song with her current voice! Well, except for that final "wild heart" at the end.

And I agree that Bella Donna and Rooms On Fire would be smart openers.

I was just wondering about using Stand Back as an opener. It has potential, I think, with a video/audio intro a la what she does now, morphing into Stand Back (like the way the studio version starts.) And NO drum solo. Just a weird idea...

I haven't seen this tour yet, but in the past the first songs have been pretty stoic. I'd rather see SB later in the set where she's at least going to be into it.
But if she did open with SB, I think the drum solo would be great for building suspense.

"Stand Back" is her premiere uptempo song she does live... to open with it, would kind of suck alot of the anticipation from the rest of the show... she needs a more balanced set....

However, i always thought "Stand Back" would be a great encore right after "Edge"... she did it like that once on TOSOTM tour and never again.... she should try doing it again...

I remember listening to these shows where she did this and saying wow this is awesome. The crowd was so into it by the point, all the build up from edge. I really thought it sounded great. Juliet and Talk to Me replacing it in the middle, even better!
