If the justice system actually worked, you might have a point.

Considering how dramatically different the other Republicans on this board act towards everyone, I think everyone would have to come down to good ole Louisiana to find another Republican similar to you.
regardless I still don't have the time to invest in some of these political debates (which I feel lead no where). So, anyways, I am limiting myself from talking in political threats on the ledge. Wish all the other republicans (if there are any) on the ledge the best of luck.

Of the inider trading and she is appealing the obstruction of justice conviction - she just chose to go ahead and serve the time for it. Intersestingly, if her conviction for obstruction of justice is overturned - even though she served time, she will never have been convicted a la Ollie North (HELLLOOOOOO DISSESTION!!!!!! )

It's hard for me to understand why she preferred to serve time.

Thus my point that it cannot work if we allow people to lie to the police with no meaningful consequence.

I do agree with you that the MS conviction was a witch hunt in the sense that there are far worse out there that escape prosectuion for a variety of reasons - but I cannot say she did not commit the crime. Thus, she did the time.

I think she did a marketing study and determined she would be seen as a martyr for doing so. I think it was a business decision. I think most people would act in a second on insider info. if they knew they could not get caught for doing so. Thus, the sympathize with MS. AND - the meteoric rise of her company's stock price seemingly supports this theory.

I agree with you. But you have to give her credit, when it comes to things like that she is a smart cookie! (When it comes to insider traiding and getting caught....a stupid cookie!)

I know, no one would ever lie to the police if they saw everything they ever worked for flash in front of them and fall to pieces. I mean, she can't possibly be human.

C'mon. I get that she broke the law, but the punishment did not fit the crime in my eyes. Disagree all you want, but that's what I believe. But I'm sure you support mandatory minimum drug laws, too.

speaking of cheap shots actually this one is non sequitor in that your comparison or analogy of a six months incarceration in a minimum security facility to YEARS of incarceration for drug convistions is specious at best.

Not really. And what about comparing it to 2 years for assault and rape? (with parole) not specious at all, to me. Another case where the punishment doesn't fit the crime...
