Bougie won't cut it...

They've got flowering vinca in, and I've been planting it everywhere.

My flowers don't give a fukc where they came from.

Vincas love the hot weather, with regular watering that is! They're one of my favourite annuals.

They can self seed and if cut back after flowering they can last for a few years, even though they are considered an annual plant.

I used to do petunias around my pool, constantly pinching them, when my aunt told me about flowering vinca. Best move I ever made. They flower up until frost finally gets them, the leaves are always green, and they're hardy as fukc! They can take a summer beating!

There's also vining vinca, which I have a much harder time finding. I'd put them in hanging baskets, and they'd get close to 6 feet long. I'm driving back home in a couple of weeks, and hoping I can find the vining vinca there, to bring back to TN with me. You know, if Walmart or Goodwill has them, I guess you can just label me as white trash, while my neighbors are amazed by them.

Yeah, Vincas don't like the cold but if Petunias have a little bit of sun they can still look pretty and colourful.

I hope you find what you're looking for!

Thanks. I've been in an upstairs condo for the past 4 years, and I'm so happy to be back in a house, with a yard, and some privacy. My stress level is half of what it was 2 months ago.

I keep hoping I'll hear Sugar Daddy in the homeless shelter.

I agree, Condo living is stressful because you have no privacy at all.

It reminds me of the famous line "Hell Is Other People", from Jean-Paul Satre's 1944 existentialist play "No Exit" (Huis Clos).

I'm happy you've found your serenity, at last!

Take care!

Who the hell is Harry Lauder(I had to Google your plant, having never heard of it, and that's an alternate name for it).

Invasive? How so? I've only had it in planters and hanging baskets, and it's never spread anywhere.

BTW, Wallyhell has them for $3.47, for four plants(they're about 5" tall).

I'm heading back to Wallyhell today, to buy a pellet gun. I just woke up to a squirrel digging my work out of the planters.

Harry Lauder was a Scottish Vaudeville act….he had a walking stick made from Curly hazel !

The Periwinkle (Vinca) is evergreen and spreads throughout the border, has a pretty purple flower ..but will be fine in planters.
Maybe I’m thinking of Vinca minor..

I heard "Emerald Eyes" in the pool area of a YMCA early this morning. Quite a deep cut!
