Stevie performed at a sold out Soldier Field in Chicago on Friday June 21, 2024 with Billy Joel as her co-headliner. Stevie played 14 songs, including Wild Heart and Bella Donna, her rendition of Buffalo Springfield's For What It's Worth, Gypsy, and Leather and Lace.
Billy Joel played 27 songs.

I guess this setlist is Stevie "doing whatever I want to do now."

If she did 14, and he did 27, I'd definitely say that she's OPENING for him.

I'm not a big fan of his, but he definitely has more clout.

She could easily do 20+ songs if she wanted to. She’s spending 11-13 minutes telling her Gypsy story alone. She’s probably got close to a half hour tied up in gabbing to the audience.

How could any SANE person think people would rather hear you blathering on and on, instead of playing more songs?

She can’t do 20+ songs anymore that’s the issue. The new shows are replaced with stories to “save” her voice.

That's why she's the OPENER.

At the Billy Joel shows she should sing more and talk less because it's essentially his audience but at her solo shows she always did say when she was younger that someday she'd want to sit on the edge of the stage and explain her songs to people. I love her stories. For me she could ditch all the songs and just spend 2 hours talking to me. You can talk to me, talk to me. Sing it girrl

I think so too. She said for the 24 Karat Gold Tour that she sang for two hours and spoke for 45 minutes. She might be talking for 40 minutes now.

I think that's the reason. But whether what she tells interesting or not, I wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars for a concert where ~40 minutes are just speeches that I can hear in any interview. Either Stevie Nicks or any artist or band.

I'd hate to be trying to listen to her stories... I find it tricky if not sometimes impossible to make out what any performer is saying when they chat through the PA in an arena... you get like maybe every third word.......

Especially when you get audience members shouting over them. Stevie also sometimes changes the tone of her voice while speaking. But I've heard the stories before
