Screw the four of them. That they'd do this at this stage of the game is beyond reproach. They're going to go out on a Farewell Tour with two new guitar players to replace the one member of the band who gave life to their live shows for decades. Give me a f***ing break. And to boot, they plan to play their hits and some old forgotten tunes? OHHHHHH Mike Campbell is going to play Oh Well. Well then that makes it an obvious choice.

They're only going to do live shows, no new music. Well, Lindsey is the live Fleetwood Mac show. He has been for 20 years. It's appalling that they'd even consider going on AT THIS POINT without him. It's not the same as Peter leaving, it's not the same as Bob leaving, and it's not the same as Lindsey leaving in 1987. They've spent the last 22 years selling Fleetwood Mac as the Rumours 5.

Stevie finally got what she wanted. Recognition that she IS Fleetwood Mac. Now she can bloviate about her f***ing stupid songs and her dumba** shawls endlessly without anyone there to reign her in. She can bring back Stand Back and any other of her solo work without challenge.

Mick as per usual whores himself out for the biggest buck (though I suspect this backfires there ultimately). And the McVie's...wow. Christine comes back to do one tour where it was clear her voice and playing weren't what they once were, record an album with Lindsey, does that tour, and now do a farewell band tour with hired hands? Good job Chris. Well played. They're basically Journey now...a cover band.

Casual fans should probably hold off on buying tickets long after this tour is announced. There is alot of backlash all over social media and most if not all in support of Lindsey. I wouldn't even be surprised if this thing ends up getting canceled. If it moves forward, even after the public and die-hard fans not warming to the new members and the firing of Lindsey I'd expect they will follow the 87-90 route and add an opening act and reduce ticket prices significantly if they seriously plan to sell out arenas without all 5 of the Rumours era band.

I think most of us are still in a state of shock, but this band was never short on drama. Will be interesting how this all plays out this year. For now I am just disgusted and not thinking to clearly. Hope I wake up tomorrow and this was all a nightmare.

They should have returned with Jeremy Spencer who remains at peak prodigiousness and artistry.

Unlike most on here, I actually would have been excited by Chris Isaak whose albums are, I think, the most beautifully produced American albums.

And, yes, Harry Styles would have been so wild and crazy a notion that I would have checked it out just for the Harold & Maude factor (also he has quasi come out as bisexual so...)

But these two are not an appealing pair.

They bring no drama, history or sex appeal.

PS - Lindsey needs to release his album yesterday

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Just like with the Time band I will not be paying to see this botched version of a once great band.I think I'd prefer to see a concert by the Bremen town musicians.

I almost posted the same thing you did Oh what a mess this has turned out to be, worse than my worst nightmare about this band. Even breaking up now would have been a more acceptable outcome.

So many assumptions thrown around in here...WOW!

Sincerely, I don’t think the decision to FIRE Lindsey would have boiled down to an ultimatum from anyone, including Stevie, probably especially Stevie. Their dynamic has never been great and unless he did something unforgivable - I cannot imagine the other three just easily going along with it - money or no money. This band has been through Hell and back and I think a lot of these assumptions and misguided low blows to Stevie & Mick are unjustifiable as we have no idea as fans what had went down behind the scenes. As it stands, they are less likely to pull in the crazy money with one of the main three songwriters missing.

Its actually really heart-warming to see just how many people out there are expressing their negative opinion. I can't see it changing anything but its restored my faith in common sense and human decency. Mick and Stevie you stupid sh!ts, you messed up!

Do they need to be reminded of the blandness and mediocrity of Burnett/Vito/Bramlett/Mason? That's exactly what this will be. No one can effectively replace Buckingham in this band.
I co-sign this.

I don't solely blame Mick, Stevie, OR any of the remaining 4. This street runs multiple ways. I'm quite sure that Lindsey was holding out on them, much in the same way that Stevie did for the last 2 years. Lindsey thought he would teach her a lesson. Then they turned around and replaced him for the tour. The remaining 4 could have waited for him to complete a solo record or postponed the tour just as easily, but they chose to continue on without him. ALL ARE TO BLAME. They are pampered, indulgent, spoiled rock stars. The only foolish one is me for expecting anything else.

It is actually immaterial what went on behind the scenes, curious as I am about what transpired. What they are doing in public by firing Lindsey is disgraceful and an insult to the fans who have longed for a final Rumours 5 lineup farewell tour. Since Mick fired Lindsey then it is his responsibility, pure and simple. They didn't even give Lindsey the courtesy of making it appear as if it was his decision to resign from the band--he was fired, ostensibly for wanting to do a solo record! Did they threaten to fire Stevie for recording IYD, 24KG, TISL, etc.?

Sadly, I think this is true. Seems like there are some FM fans out there who think this is "just another personnel change". Except it's not, and here's why: every other time this band has changed personnel, it was to record new music and do new things. This time, it's to play the golden oldies. And if they do record new music, and Stevie is part of it, then the woman I have been a fan of for decades and whose music I have listened to every day of my life since the 70s will have shown her true, ugly colors. To fellow Stevie fans who think the Stevie/Lindsey sh&t show only went in one direction, you are so sadly mistaken. She took such great pleasure in toying with him and ultimately effing him over. NOT a pretty picture, sister.

i would like to think not, but again, kinda gotta agree with this.

They will just cancel if they cannot demand millions for the tour now ..it is all about the money.

GLASS HALF FULL: At least we'll get to hear Neil Finn singing "Go Your Own Way", "Oh Well", and "Black Magic Woman" in concert. We also get to hear Neil duet with Christine on "Don't Stop" and "World Turning". Stevie can add "Stand Back" and "Has Anyone Ever Written" into the set list. We can also pull out "Hold Me" and "Brown Eyes". Sound familiar? Longtime fans: We've been down this road before and it was like having dinner at a cheap Sizzler steak house with stale wine. God, help us!
