Best way to get good seats?

For those of you that got seats in the first 5 rows this tour, how were you able to get them? I used the Amex presale for the Houston show and got 12th row, which was good, but I still dream of getting front row one day! I'm going to the Austin show but I don't feel like the Amex presale will be my best option. Other than VIP, what worked for you guys this tour?

Hi John.It was a fluke when I end up getting first row seats at the Turning Stone Casino upstate New York years ago as I called their Box Office on the first day of sale.That was then with the normal $125 bucks tix.Now its a specialty getting up there with the overpriced VIP crap.Good luck and also keep an eye on here for some will post info or good tix for sale.

If only I could get so lucky! I love Stevie, but I refuse to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a close seat with no meet and greet.

I agree on that part with the inflated prices.Its BS.

Yeah, 10 or 15 years ago, the waiting game would have worked, but you now have "VIP"seats, "Platinum" seats and I personally believe that Ticketmaster now scalps tickets on their own website as "resale".

I waited and waited for drops for MSG, and there were some, but nothing front floor.

I got a second row seat for one of my shows when they went on sale that was considered a ticketmaster "premium" seat and not VIP. It was almost half the price of the VIP package. The resale tickets are really resale and not a scam, as I've sold some of mine that way myself. I had really good luck at another show a few days before the concert where I managed to get a 4th row seat for face value that was again about half price of VIP. I think that close to the show they convert unsold VIP to regular ticketmaster seats to sell them off. It probably depends on the venue, though.

I'd like to get seats the Tulsa show that won't make me go entirely broke, is it better to wait until the show gets closer to see if tickets get cheaper, or just to suck it up and pay for good seats at the start?

I'd recommend sucking it up and paying for good seats at the start. otherwise you risk not getting any at all. Check for premium seating first. There's no guarantee that any unsold VIP seats will convert to premium right before the show, or that any extra tickets will be released. But ... if you don't mind waiting and giving it a shot later, you might get lucky, but you have to be vigilant about checking for seats.

Ugh just checked for Memphis and most good seats appear to be already gone. I can't buy yet since I don't have an AMEX card. Sucks that the scalpers buy up everything so that actual fans have a difficult time trying to buy good seats at a reasonable price.

i always wait to buy any concert tickets unless I pull up front row. there are always so many on stubhub and if you wait until the day of the show you can get really good tickets for a lot cheaper. ticketmaster always spits out them out close to the show as well but you got to be on the ball and have the ticketmaster window up pretty much all day long and be ready to purchase. I've never had trouble buying concert tickets its so much easier now than back in the day.

Move to The Netherlands, nearly all of the big concerts at the arenas/stadiums and larger venues are general admission with no seats on the floor. So you have to be early to get a good spot and plenty of room to dance, jump etc, without bothering people behind you.

So I got upfront that way at the last 8 Mac-concerts I attended since 2009 ...

Now we still get to persuade Stevie and her entourage to tour overhere :-)

back in the late eighties and early nineties before the internet, I used to put deposits down on shows through a ticket agency in Southern California. They would call you a week after the tickets were on sale and tell you which ones were available and the prices. It was always very expensive. On the time-space to her for the Irvine Meadows California show I ended up with front row Center tickets and at that time it was $300 a seat. That agency would allow me to put a deposit down on the shows like 50 bucks, and then you can make payments towards that until they were paid off as long as you had everything paid six weeks prior to the performance. I know a lot of ticket agencies back in the day operated that way because they would buy blocks of Premium tickets so they could resell them to the public. At a premium. I don't know if this goes on still I'm sure it does. I don't ever remember VIP packages or anything like that back in the day. That's a relative new phenomena. Well I'm using the speak to text feature on my phone so hopefully this comes out okay haha

Most venues hold back good seats for promotional purposes or for the band. They usually get released a month or later before the show when they don't need them anymore. That's how I've usually scored front row seats, or seats within the first five rows. But you have to be vigilant and check multiple times per day. Here on The Ledge, we used to give a heads up when seats suddenly became available on Ticketmaster. There may even be mobile apps now to alert you.
