I wouldn't break out the champagne yet. Mick has been known to leak stuff over the years that turns out either totally wrong or wishful thinking.

I met Mick Back in 1996 right before the release of Twisted and he gave me the 411 on that track and a dinner the 5 had and how something BIG was coming down the pike. I think Mick clears it with the band before he makes such announcements.

LOL, seriously!? Remember the Sheryl Crow debacle?

I don't ever remember Mick saying anything about Sheryl joining the band. Just Sheryl.
In any event, their publicist verified it. It's been long enough that if it was not true, Christine or her manager would have said something.

Fleetwood Mac ready to begin recording? Posted on January 28, 2014 by fmfanuk Sean Michaels theguardian.com, Tuesday 28 January 2014 14.05 GMT Newly reunited with Christine McVie, the group are already composing new songs according to a report in Maui News Fleetwood Mac‘s classic line-up is reportedly set to begin recording together for the first time in 27 years. Newly reunited with Christine McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and John McVie are purportedly working on a new album. Don't stop … Christine McVie's songs often bristled with optimism, at least on the surface. Photograph: REX Don’t stop … Christine McVie’s songs often bristled with optimism, at least on the surface. Photograph: REX Word of the studio reunion emerged through a tiny item in Maui News (via Stereogum), following Mick Fleetwood’s 11 January gig at a small festival in Wailuku, Hawaii. “Chatting after performing at Willie K’s BBQ Blues Festival, Mick Fleetwood confirmed the rumour that Christine McVie will rejoin Fleetwood Mac,” wrote columnist Jon Woodhouse. “Already composing new songs, McVie will begin recording with most of the band members in March … [and] the Mac will head out on the road again in the fall.” Although the return of Christine McVie has been corroborated elsewhere, this is the first indication that Fleetwood Mac are making a record together. When the group last convened for an album, 2003′s Say You Will, Christine McVie didn’t write any songs. Her only contributions were borrowed from aborted sessions for a Lindsey Buckingham solo album. When asked about a new album, last September, Lindsey Buckingham said the decision was up to Stevie Nicks. “Stevie needs to come to the table with some material,” he said. “She has to want to do it … [And] she’s probably thinking, ‘If I have to write five new songs, do I want to give them to Fleetwood Mac?’” Buckingham was part of Sunday night’s Grammys gala, performing in a closing jam with Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. Due to time restrictions, producers cut to a commercial before the performance was finished. “Music’s biggest night… to be disrespected,” Reznor tweeted. “A heartfelt FU*K YOU guys.”

Nothing new here it's just a rework of the Maui news piece...The interesting thing is that when Mick put it out there that CM was returning to FM Liz was quick with a confirmation but with Mick's "recording in March & tour in the fall" statement everyone else seems to be avoiding it...Stevie & Lindsey both were in the position to say something at the Grammys and Stevie is interviewed regularly...You would think that since Mick has put it out there Lindsey would mention recording and Stevie even if she isn't thrilled about recording would at least mention some new FM shows...

also, with being burned so many times since Unleashed and being on the record that he wants new FM album, maybe he'd avoid saying much more. he did say in that radio interview that with Christine possibly coming back that opens up some great new possibilities, about which he doesn't want to say anything more so not to jinx it. ![]()

if Stevie is mad at Lindsey she might not mention recording, to make him wonder. It's not that she's not going to do it, she will. But she doesn't want to say it. It's like in DR she was saying she might not do a long tour. She had every intention of a full tour, but it was her leverage to get him to stop with the double album. she never said she'll be recording with FM though, and in that new interview she said she has no plans for another solo album any time soon and definitely not in the same house she recorded her last solo album. so i guess whether or not she'll be recording with FM this year may be open to speculations.

I don't know. She didn't say enough for me to tell. But if she doesn't like something about what's happening in March, she may want to act like she's on the fence about it and not mention it, as if there's a chance she won't participate. But if they are recording in March, she'll be there.
