Got to have early scenes of her singing in juke joints with Granpa Nicks!
i think the dark coke days could be "glossed over" montage style....
definitely explore her writing the only #1 song.....
tango drama
launch of her solo career during BD
Robin's passing
many more but i just took a Klonopin

With Ian Sommerhalder as Lindsey

I'd love to see the TITN arguement at Christine's house too and the whole Tusk era would be pretty intense.
I like your girl choices definetly..they would make a great match..My ex husband should be Lindsey though Seriously..if I find a pic..I'll show you..Something is hauntingly familiar...

Who wants a Mac biopic, and who wants a Stevie biopic?

^Mac, it makes better sense cohesively for a movie, I think.

FM biopic would probably be inevitably titled Rumours.

There's this girl on the TV show RINGER, who is a dead...um ringer for a young stevie. Her name is Zoey Deutch (and she's Leah Thompson's daughter) It freaks me out sometimes how similar they look. She even has her voice... soft and raspy. you might not see it in these pics, but to me she has the college to Buckingham Nicks era down pat!

I would DEFINITELY prefer an FM biopic rather than just a Stevie one. There are just so many story lines...

I rather have a book about Stevie - but not her own. I don't think we'd get much more than what we already know. It would be written in Stevie's myopic perspective.

Stephen Davis just wrote Carly Simon's biography, with some of Carly's input, but she had no control in what was ultimately published. She was not happy with it because she felt too exposed. Because the author did the work, it was authentic, accurate and academic. I'm looking forward to reading it.

He has written several lauded books about other artists. Led Zeppelin comes to mind. I read an article about him. He emphatically stated several times that he wants to write a book about Stevie. He said his publisher said something to the effect of "no, not yet." The article ended with him saying "But I really want to do a book on Stevie Nicks."

That's the book I want to read. Then a movie might possibly be made...based on that book.
I agree with this. I"d rather have a really good book about Stevie with all the juicy deets :-).

As far as biopic, of course I'd be interested in both but I think just one on Stevie would be more interesting. Whenever it's a group thing a lot of details get over looked or glossed over because they have to cram everything about every band member into a short amout of time.

I would like to see them shooting the Tusk doc and have the actress do the infamous "coffee's making" bit. I loved in the Grey Gardens movie when they re-enacted bits from the documentary but then showed parts around what we've seen onscreen so many times. I think it would also be cool to see a bit of the Belladonna photo shoot where she starts singing Wild Heart. Would be neat to see a director's vision of how that moment transpired given it's popularity on YouTube. Plus, if the actress has a good voice and a passion for doing Stevie justice it would be a great moment.

I don't think it would be possible to do a movie about Fleetwood Mac. Movies are too short and there is far too much material. If anything it would need to be a miniseries. There is no way you could fit all the incidents into a two or even three hour script. You might be able to do the Rumours era as a movie. Might. In terms of a script and the way a film is constructed it would have to be so carefully done. There has to be a beginning, middle and end. Frankly, there is no end with the Rumours era. What would it be? The Grammy show? Trying to do a movie spanning twenty years would leave out so much. I can't see it playing and having enough of a through line. You'd lose so much background and so much back story. Not enough viewers would know it innately. You would have to do tons of exposition.

It would never ever happen, but I could see story wise being able to pull off an entire three or even four season series called something like "Dreams - The Stevie Nicks Chronicles." First season could be 73-80. Second season 81-94. Third season from 95 to present. Another beyond that, if the present is any indication. There is no lack of material in terms of drama. But it kind of requires a dramatic, triumphant ending. Something like what would have happened if IYD had spawned 3 huge singles or she pulled a Bonnie Raitt style Grammy trick. The last year has made me think she has much more great stuff in her, so that year may be coming. The thing with Steve is, I think she will utterly tour until she drops. So there will not be some big hurrah send off. Stevie will never stop performing, and her huge industry blow out bash and honors are yet to come. She has risen from the ashes so many times that you never know what she will do next. She has become a bit unpredictable in her dotage. And still writes great songs and looks like a million bucks.

The real problem with ALL of this is music rights and clearances. Can you imagine? Paying her and Lindsey? Christine sold her catalogue but I'm sure it doesn't come cheap. Not only would it cost millions of dollars, but in order to do it well one would need the blessing of the lady herself or, if the circumstances require, the permission of her estate. I don't see it happening in the next twenty years. Those wheels turn so slowly. But, at some point in time, the entire story could be on the level of the best shows ever made. It would be just as interesting as a show about Madonna or Elvis.
Neither of them could be summed up in a 2 hour movie.

Maybe I just know too much about Stevie and the band, but a movie for me would not cut it. There are simply too many stories. And where Stevie is concerned, too much drama. The story should either be a 12 hour 6 part miniseries, or better yet, a 3-4 season show. Preferably funded by the BBC and Canal Films. IMO it could be really great art, but probably has to wait until all the players are long gone. The whole thing is too damned complex to even ponder. It is a miracle that any film or show ever gets made. Let alone one that has a soundtrack written by 3 living people with wildly divergent interests and agendas. And extremely expensive music rights.

Default Stevie Biopic

I think that it would be nearly impossible to accurately do a film about Stevie's entire life. A mini-series for HBO or Showtime, however, could be quite great.

I would break up her life into a 4-part mini-series as so:

Birth-1975

1975-1978

1978-1985

1985-present

The only thing that could work movie-wise would be a biopic of Fleetwood Mac, with the focus solely on the Rumours era. High drama all within a couple of years.

It's hard for me to believe there'd be enough of an audience for such a thing. But then again, somebody took Loretta Lynn & made "Coal Miner's Daughter" for a mass audience; & somebody else took the Ike & Tina Turner story & turned that into an Oscar-winning movie, too. So I guess these things can & do happen. ("Beyond the Sea" came & went without any frenzy, but "Ray" pleased nearly everybody. It's hard to predict which musical biopics will make it.)

What would surprise me less is if such a movie or miniseries was not a great work of art but a stupid & crass treatment of Buckingham-Nicks as Scarlett & Rhett Kardashian. It's the Age of Unreal Reality TV, after all. (The reality TV shows are probably going to bury the new "Dallas" this year.) If the members of Fleetwood Mac spent more time around one another, a reality TV show of their little pisses & spats might draw the viewers.

My question: Would Stevie's momentous trip to Chile in 1980-81, cementing her decision to release "Bella Donna," make an interesting little after-hours movie?

Oh, come in and weigh in on the Dennis Wilson movie down below. Also, since the actress is a classically trained pianist, you have to go see the movie and offer your musical commentary.
