Default Some thoughts about this band's future pivotal direction points from a young fan (me)

OK.

This is a discussion thread. I start with my centre-right opinions about this great, amazing, fantastic band.

And we drift back towards the centre fanbase, ideally.

I am a ...member of the choir (no, not the band - it is a metaphor, guys!!!! )

SO?

Here are the talking points for the Ledgies and anyone else who wants a blank cheque (publicist/band members/hangers on/promotors etc. etc.)

Liz Rozenberg (not, not me, I am a MAN) really could/should have a read of the blank cheque because, here in this what I hope would, could, should be a great market-place of ideas fan-base thread ...is the discussion focal points/.questions:

- So:

Here goes nothing ....

....

What is your most important project that the band could or "should" work on in its short to mid-term (x2 questions there) future?
Do you like a certain band member more than another?

Do you like a certain songwriter more than another?

Would you be interested in a C. McVie/John McVie and S. Nicks collaboration? Or not so much?

Do you think the bass line of songs lifts their atmosphere or do you prefer seeing Stevie and Lindsey on stage alone or with just, Mr Fleetwood?

Do you believe in this band's collective willpower overthrowing any selective interest groups, or not really?

Do you think that these people are smooth musical operators?

\Or do you think they are a promotors' "worst nightmare"?

Do you believe in word of mouth or do you favour the Internet and the social media spread of words/written texts?

Do you read, much?

Do you like to sing in the shower?

Or, do you keep quiet about your musical prowess? Haha

And, most importantly

- Do you believe in blank cheques?
- Or did you realise that this a script to steer the discussion towards the centre fanbase ???

GOOO!

Start your revving

And tell me, us, them, the world

What do you all think about this band???

Kind regards,

J.R. Schofield
Addicted Ledgie.

Australian man

- OK.

Default A Pre-mature, but to the rightish-Speculative Prediction

This band is getting set, perhaps, only maybe....getting set for the sprint that is 2015 with

a release of an Extended Play Link/Part 2

to drop in around / say, who knows?

I'm bullish, a touch, about say May 30, 2015

What are other Ledgies thoughts

four more songs by May 30 next year sounds conservative-ish to me.

Just thinking back to thepublic record comments of one Christine McVie half a year or so, ago

sounded very fair and even-handed to me anyways

Keep guess-ing

Default Why we support this Ledge Website with ideas and sometimes, cash

We love the band that is Fleetwood Mac and we simply do not, at all, care if our opinions and ideas are chunnell'd into a focus group page, blog like http://www.fleetwoodmacnews.com

Because, we know that we can influence and shape the debate about the people in that band - the Mac, because, we love their songs, because we want a new Fleetwood Mac album; we want a Tour DVD, we want a retrospective and a proactively filmed DVD Documentary.

We do, yes, want a film of and by the fans like Fleetwood Mac: The Fans' Film

or similar to Veronica Mars the Movie.

We can, should and possibly would put our money where our mouth is and vote with our feet if there never is any new songs!!!

We are a federation of the Fans, across all of the parts of the world. We love this band, and we hope and pray for their best health and also their prosperity.

We know that as the fanbase, we shape what and when they do their thing. This tour has spread like wild-fire from the west to the east from USA/CANADA to the United Kingdom/European Union and shortly over back to Oceanic District, oh, I mean Australia/New Zealand.

And naturally the ones who disagree with that power, or that union of love for great music --- of course they can and will try to Shut Us Down.

It will

It Takes Time
and their is a Miss Fantasy in the group.

There is a time waster, or procrastinator.

There is talk on the town; that she might go solo.

There is word on the street that she might be leaving out the "back-door". There is a man who really does hope, pray that Secret Love, was not on his tape.

I know because I am a good, loyal fan.

So, tell me, if there are any promoting people or marketing gurus lurking here on the Ledge.....why kick your fanbase when the chips are going up, up and all the way further up?

Does, someone think she is a Republican when she started out a Democrat?

WTH

is going on in the collective consciousness of the business and the group of players and one silly singer that, y'know owes it all to Mick, John and her supposedly best pal Christine McVie?

Angel Face should put two and two together, get four and realise 80% of a full record album has already been done. She needs a minimum 3 preferably 5-6 songs, new off the boat.

I know I read on a fan site that there was one called My Mothers' Rings.

Another, Carousel, supposedly.

Another, Belle Fleur (oops -- went solo on that one big time!)

This is, was and remains a big rude middle finger to Mr Buck, John and possibly Mick for roping her back in after Say You Will in 2009 but especially! Especially in 2013 ... it is just so clear that was book-marked for her solo S.N. time.

I am sorry to the chiffon heads.

I am sorry to the Bucks.

But ....honestly, you know who is losing??? Mick and John, the backbone of the great band who have half the touring revenue of all three songwriters.

That is the great travesty. The great leverage is that Mick and John own the Intellectual Property to the band's name " Fleetwood Mac". Still, it is a shame and remains a great betrayal by the one person who felt like she was never meant to be on the Fleetwood Mac bill. (Payroll)
\
So...quite seriously?

Giving her, Stevie, the flick, is simply a matter of course for the Band Manager-ex Mick F.

But, but, but I must add this very subtle disclaimer, that he is too nice as is his friend, the bassist ... to kick someone out of a business that returned so much to their hip pockets.

Buckingham has paid his dues with guitars blazing, producing Tusk, producing Tango in the Night, while Stevie saunters in at the end of the day as she did with Say You Will.

I've had 6 months rest from our Tour now. I was on rest. You don't want my voice broken on the record tape, do you?

NO!

Okay, good. Thank you, come again.

"She can't just come and go" sounds familiar, doesn't it? Christine retired rather than flipping a coin to hedge her bets on Dave Stewart, Dave Grohl, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry etc, HAIM and so on and so forth

Stevie wants to nuture young talent while doing nothing to help the very four, and one in particular, who is very open and honest always.

Lindsey.

Naturally, it is the extreme rude finger to be up on stage rolling in your pay cheque whilst still.....you know...."she can't just come and go".

WELL!! Lindsey, maybe she can and always did, always has and always will ?????????!!

Sounds like a very shady, comfortable arrangement of business order to me.

Very, very comfy.
Not at all adulterous, just sleazy, sly and twice as cruel as any song Mr Buck ever wrote.

I was a Stevie fan but I have flooded over to Lindsey who is just so much more gentle, kind, caring and warm in his songs/music.

Lindsey would give his mate a hug; Stevie would sooner kick her Mates while they are down and her chips are up, up,up.
BUT THAT REALLY DID, DOES AND SHOULD BE ON THE RECORD

To be clear

Seasons greetings!
No wine.

I am a little loopy by nature and I take a little pill called Seroquel (quetiapine as fumarate).

Medicare picks up the gap in the cheque and I co-pay $5.50 per script, to stop me from going mental I take 150 mg per day.

I am not stressed; I am anti-stressed.

Just like people with depression are not depressed; but they are anti-depressed.

Anyway.

Thanks guys for the understanding.

That thread, this thread sorry, is about Fleetwood Mac being a bunch of idiots, particularly the one GIRL who was never meant to be included in the group:

Stevie; Lindsey's ex-girlfriend, he let her come in with him "package deal" oh "it didn't look good for you now, did it, Stevie?"

etc etc.

And she kicks him Mr Buck in the teeth after he helped her grow her fame and wealth to a point where even Stevie herself surpassed Lindsey's wealth and talent.

Stevie is trying to pivot herself into artist management and artistic expression/ anti-celebrity mode.

It is not working.
She cannot sell her own product without Liz Rozenberg and Dave Stewart or Dave Grohl.

So really, why when she has a neat little trio set up plus Karen Johnston, then why does she --- pivot back away from Fleetwood Mac the band that she almost made her own? The people who gave her a home in the music biz and she kicks them in the teeth and refuses to honour the time-honoured agreement that if they tour, they also record and if they do a record --it is five a-piece, always, even if one doesn't pull her weight EVER.

What. A Rat. Of a woman........

We don't really know Stevie nor Lindsey, we just know what they let us know about them, so I think we shouldn't say things like "Lindsey would give his mate a hug; Stevie would sooner kick her Mates while they are down and her chips are up, up,up". I also think that we shouldn't care so much about their personality as such that what they do is MUSIC, they're not teachers or psychologists or doctors so it's a scandal for us if they're egocentric, all stars are egoentric, or they wouldn't have wanted to be famous, they would have been again teachers or psychologists or doctors.
I understand that you must be in a place of your life that is difficult and you're projecting your thoughts and emotions on outward and more controllable things but you should be aware that this behaviour doesn't reflects on yourself.

I'd like to see the band play with their voices more in any (hopefully) future recordings.

- a song with Stevie AND Christine singing lead. Does one even exist? These fools don't realize you can actually write songs for other people and not only for yourself.

- a song with Lindsey AND Christine singing together, where Stevie can also be heard

- another song with Stevie AND Lindsey singing together, where Christine can also be heard in background vocals

What is your most important project that the band could or "should" work on in its short to mid-term (x2 questions there) future?
Put out at least a double album as soon as they can.

Do you like a certain band member more than another?
Yes.

Do you like a certain songwriter more than another?
Yes.

Would you be interested in a C. McVie/John McVie and S. Nicks collaboration? Or not so much?
Yes indeed! I think that combo, out from under the shadow of certain people, could really work magic.

Do you think the bass line of songs lifts their atmosphere or do you prefer seeing Stevie and Lindsey on stage alone or with just, Mr Fleetwood?
Bass is vital to FM. And I would like to see Lindsey stick to what he does best .... playing guitars, singing backup, and producing.

Do you believe in this band's collective willpower overthrowing any selective interest groups, or not really?
I think the band has, like, three or four willpowers and not one.

Do you think that these people are smooth musical operators?
No.

Or do you think they are a promotors' "worst nightmare"?
They are probably OK for promoters to deal with.

Do you believe in word of mouth or do you favour the Internet and the social media spread of words/written texts?
I believe in both.

I saw some things on this tour (3 shows) that I've never seen in many years of seeing FMac.

1. The lack of interaction between Lindsey and Stevie. There still is some, but this is the least I've ever seen it. Past tours have had so much more. I guess Mick's book sums up the SYW recordings where Stevie expected the two to renew some chemistry and it only went in the opposite direction. On a bright spot, this seems to be changing for the better. Let's hope they want to write and sing together again. The magic is building.

2. Lot's of interaction between Stevie and Christine. This is kind of new to me. They did a little on the Cage and BTM shows, but the friendliness and Stevie's excitement seems fresh and even 'non-staged'. I can tell how happy she is that Christine is back. Her voice and stage presence have really flourished of late and I think it's because the 5 of them are together again. Some friendly competition perhaps? Very healthy.

3. There's always been a lot of Lindsey and Christine interaction throughout the years, but to see them collaborating on new music and the hugging and kissing and the genuine friendship they keep displaying has been better than ever. Lindsey's face lights up when he talks about Christine in interviews. I love how he refers to her as, "The beautiful Christine". Those studio recordings the four of them participated in must have been amazing. Especially because he was the one least enthused about her return in the beginning.

I think all the album drama is just a matter of Stevie wanting to control her own destiny. That's my bottom line statement on the whole album matter. In my opinion the quality of her work has always been better within the band. Fireflies!

Hello again guys. It is 6.56 AM EST here in dull and shy Western Sydney; most people are asleep.

I was a little bummed that I had a ticket to the Houston TX show but had to sell at a 30% discount $180. Well, Flash Seats took the 10% G.S.T. tax off the top as commission (it was $200 that they sold for in USD and I paid about $237 USD to the ticket retailer).

Just wanted focus on a few key issues and collate those issues into one thread.

So far, sadly, a lot has been said about "did you just have some wine" or "some pills"?

Guys, not happy with you at all, very disappointed in fact. Yeah -- I do suffer from a mental health diagnosis, BUT this discussion THREAD is NOT about me.

All things being equal, I have read some much, much crazier things from people whose only excuse is "I AM A FAN YABADABDOOO!"

Well, I do have a psychiatrist on my side and the treatment medication the can and does neutralize issues of mental disorder in my psyche.

There is and always has been a clear distinction of the Australian way and the ANZAC spirit. The United States of America has always, always being a PATRIOTIC country

Australians are different. We love, we hope, we pray and we tried hard not to break.

Then just as we begin to become an outward-looking country after 13 YEARS of a Labor Hawke/Keating Government...in came John Howard and the Liberal/Nationals parties ready to destroy the joint! George W. Bush, our ex-PM's mate made sure to

read Iraq

instead of, IraN

IRAN has.had nuclear weapons. IraQ didn't -- it had a dictator and lots of oils and commodities.

Anyway, it remains quite clear that the USA is still afraid of itself and won't arch its back up to fight the Persian and Irania dictatorship forces who are putting the boot into Western democratic freedom every day now.

In summing up, the ANZAC way, the Australian spirit of resilience is that despite our shared tongue ---Aussies never, ever kick their mates when the chips are down.

Aussies never slash and burn their loses and FORCE a Global Financial Crisis, instead we squeezed our government CREDIT to pump and prime our economy. Then we need a massive REGRESSIVE TAXATION MEASURE (the CARBON consumer/consumption TAX).

The new Abbott Coalition Govt repealed a Carbon Emissions Trading |Scheme to damage market and consumer confidence just before Christmas ...well, in mid-late July.

This country is swinging slowly back on the political pendulum to the centre-right; to the "Republican" of Australia, Tony Abbott; Julie Bishop, Warren Truss, Ian MacFarlane and the rest of them -- Marise Payne, Mattias Corrman

There is NOTHING wrong with our Government or their people, it is ideological hatreds and ideological stupidity to think you can be so AUSTERE to cut and cut and cut all government spending WITHOUT putting back a REGRESSIVE TAX or RAISING THE G.S.T. TO 15% or, worse, 17.5%.

The Australian Labor Party (which includes myself) just ...is ...was...still is distraught.

I have been tearing up all the time now.
Phillip Hughes -- dead. (He was a Cricketer)
Lone gunman in Sydney CBD and Lindt Café Manager -- dead.
Tony Abbott was, according to a deceased Aunt -- a CANCER.

There is so much right-wing garbage floating about here in Australia.

So much nonsense about how cutting taxes can grow the economy. Look, the Communists in the Greens went too far with their CARBON PRICE/TAX. Labor believes in a floating market price to curb growth and to stem the growing of the massive Ozone hole about Australia.

The Liberals /the Australian Right-wing believe in cutting, slashing, burning and undermining the great reforms of a WOMAN that they could not properly and DID NOT handle well -- the Hon. Julia Gillard, former P.M. of Australia.

Please, you stupid dopes, do not judge me
Read my thread and answer my survey
I just talked a lot of political crap because I went off on a tangent, dammit
Well, I would just like to think about how, where why and what for you Ledgies have such a dig at me

It is because most of you are Americanas from Canada or the USA.

It is and still is a superiority complex.

It is that right-winger mentality of --let us find all the mentally ill, lock ém back up and thrown away that key til the gaols/jails overflow with criminals and the mental health centres overflow with the unwanteds people.

This Australian Country is NOT fascist. WE ARE CENTRISTS.

The American people want to SWING BACK to REPUBLICANS???

PLEASE DO NOT DO IT. PLEASE VOTE FOR HILLARY. PLEASE VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE/.

Or Australia will no sooner latch its forelock ship tuggers back on to the Imperial United Kingdom and the Imperialist-right United States and Canadia/Canada.

Our friends in the UK "Conservative Party" and the "Liberal Democrats" might be wondering about now, what the **** will happen when UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand ALL lurch to the centre-right, well?

Let's not let that happen.

Not in our name, guys, Ledgies.

Treat mentally ill people (like Me and others) with respect, kindness, care and compassion

OR, you can a zane-NIGEL NO FRIENDS and latch on like a goose to IMPERIAL RIGHT-WINGER NUTS.
