I'm working on a project with a group of people where we are trying to show how perception is not always reality. The basis of the project is an article that was in Tuesdays Wall Street Journal about a photograph taken on Sept. 11. The photo is of a group of people sitting and talking casually with the smoke filled skyline of the city in the background. Basically, the photographer's photo made the individuals look unaffected by what was happening behind them, as if they were just sitting having a normal conversation.
I am trying to find other, non-photo shopped images that could also be misconstrued this way on the internet. If anyone knows of any and could direct me to them or post them here that would be great! Thanks in advance!

There's a great blog that deals with this very issue. In fact, he discussed the exact photo you're talking about on 9/11/06. I just took a peek and I don't see it on the main page still, but you might be able to find it in the archives.
http://bagnewsnotes.typepad.com/bagnews/ It's a liberal blog, just to be clear... I just thought his technique at analyzation may be of help, regardless whether you agree with him politically. |
