(The Sticky for where to post fan reviews went away, so I'll put it here...sorry.)
Before I get into the details, I just want to say I think Lindsey's guitar playing was nothing short of phenonmenol! He's the best entertainer I've seen in a very long time. His stage act was FANTASTIC! As was the duet with Stevie on Say Goodbye... it gave me gooseflesh. The look she gets on her face and in her eyes was enough to bring tears. Okay, I cried when it was all over.... so follow me on this because I’m still very tired from all the driving. The motto for me may have been “Say You Will” spenda lotta money on this tour; so I did. With a 3rd row center seat (Thanks to YOU out there, you know who you are!) I left for the venue in Portland at noon. It’s only an hour’s drive, but that tells you how much anticipation had built up. Consequently, I got the pick of everything once I got there. I met a lot of very friendly and excited Fleetwood Mac fans while waiting. There was nothing unusual about most of the performance in Portland, so here are some details: Mindy does look to be in the very early stages of pregnancy. She performed in Portland AND Auburn. Stevie wore Reeboks the whole show and twirled many times during Stand Back (both shows.) Lindsey twirled Stevie around, square dance style, during Tusk. At the end, he hunched over so his whole body was in the shape of an upside down U. He walked around slowly to the mic, grunting like he was tired and worn out. He lifted up to the mic and let out a long groan. It was VERY funny!!! I was trying to sneak snapshots thru out but missed that one because I was laughing too hard. Security was tight. They tried to make isle people who had snuck up to the first rows, sit down, but finally gave up because it was disrupting the show. One very drunk girl was yelling at Stevie until Stevie gave her the eye. She was eventually escorted out because she was so wasted and kept bothering people. She walked on my poster so many times it now looks like a piece of trash. Only a few people from the first row went up to play Lindsey’s guitar. He had to urge them to come up. They didn’t seem too interested. And no broken strings tonight. There were a couple Buckingham Nicks albums in the audience. One was mine and it ended up getting scratched by the drunk girl. One guy kept holding up a small teddy bear. Stevie acknowledged him by smiling and waving her pinkie. Other than that, not a lot of audience interaction. Two small teddy bears were lobbed onstage. Mick picked them up at the end and held them up while the crowd cheered. One young girl jumped up on stage on Stevie’s side and ran all the way over to Lindsey, who was doing a guitar solo. She had a bouquet in her hand, tapping Lindsey’s shoulder with the other. He had no idea what was going on. He turned around after the 2nd or 3rd tap. Security FINALLY spotted her, picked her up off the ground and carried her off stage. What a riot!!! Stevie was cracking up and so was I. Didn’t get a picture of that either. Lastly, the sound was great at this venue; the bass drums were heavily micked which made quite an impact on several songs. Next night; Auburn, WA. I met Elisabeth and her friends. She is such a sweet person and her friend was totally nice too. Her other friend was the highlight of our get together. ‘Nuf said there. ;-> Shortly after the show started, the first 3 rows (myself included) were allowed to go up in the pit area, right up to the stage. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! Stayed there the whole night on Lindsey’s side, since everyone else was in the middle or next to Stevie. The band was really “on” tonight. Lindsey commented “this is a beautiful place” as he looked out over the audience. Stevie dedicated Landslide to her uncle who was in the audience. There were no broken strings this night either. Life at the lip of the stage on Lindsey’s side was truly the experience of a lifetime for me. Everyone standing around was in complete awe. One guy said he felt very lucky at this point in time. Every time I looked at him, he was grinning ear to ear. I got LOTS of Lindsey and Mick shots, not many of Stevie since my view of her was mostly blocked by monitors. There was a very young girl standing next to me; very skinny, long thin hair, not much makeup and very pretty eyes. She and Lindsey flirted nearly the whole night. Okay, Linsdey flirted with me a time or two and we teased each other once or twice, but his attention was clearly on this young gal. She was really working it too!! I wonder if she remembers much about the concert besides flirting with Lindsey! LOL!!! ;-D She said Lindsey mopped his face with a towel and threw it off stage into a separate pack of young girls. So yes, I got to shake Lindsey’s hand; not once, but twice. I got to play the guitar during Go Your Own Way, along with about 50 other people who seemed to appear instantly from nowhere. I was hit by flying sweat from Lindsey and Mick. I think even a bit of flying spit from Mick hit me. Stevie was so close I could touch her; she was shaking hands too. Stevie leaned down and kissed the hand or face of a very young little girl sitting on her daddy’s shoulders. The little girl was wearing a purple velvet dress. :-D Mick gave his drumsticks to someone just BEHIND me. The young girl Lindsey was flirting with held up her JOHN RULZ sign at the end of the show. I waved to the band, yelling for them to look over. Lindsey saw it and pointed it out, then John came over and signed it for her. Lindsey signed something for one person at the center of the stage who I think he recognized. No set lists were given out because I didn’t see any and don’t think they use them. So it was worth every penny. Who would ever have imagined… after all these years of being a fan, something this good could ever have happen. I’m so glad I was persistent and made the decisions I did. It may have been costly, but it paid off in my mind. These are awesome memories I will commit to diary and place with my Fleetwood Mac collection. Would I do it again? Probably, but I need a long rest first and pay my Visa down! LOL!!! If I get enough good pictures, I’ll put up a webpage and send the link. ~Laura (still floating) ![]() Last edited by desertangel; 07-27-2003 at 11:31 PM.. |

OMG!!! Do you have blond hair and was wearing a black outfit?? I was the girl flirting with Lindsey!! LOL!!! And yes I had the "John Rulz" sign that John signed. I've been dying to post a review but I just back home to Idaho tonight. If that was you, I was standing next to you the whole night, right?? And I asked you about whether Lindsey was mad at the guy who was bringing his guitars and you said it was because his guitar was out of tune? That is the coolest!! I was so glad to read your review. I missed the girl jumping on stage at the Portland show?? Must have been in lala land :-)

This is so petty, especially since I'm the one saying all over this board that "they're just shoes, people!"--but just for reference-- Stevie did wear her black boots for the encores at both shows. I haven't noticed anyone mentioning her fab tuxedo jacket during GYOW, which was great. It made for visions of an imaginary top hat on her head.....
At the Auburn show, Stevie kept jokingly saying, "Stop!" to someone in front. Does anyone know what this was about? Also~if the lady with the blond, curly hair who got her hand kissed by Lindsey, her hand shaken by Stevie for a long time, AND Mick's drumsticks is reading this...Congratulations! WOW! I am STILL recovering 2 days later physically (and otherwise!!!) from those 2 back-to-back shows and I'm only 24! It makes me realize how much of the band's energy touring must take up! Which brings me back to Stevie really being careful to preserve her health..... ![]() |
