What do y'all predict will be the out-of-the-vaults song that the band brings to the Mac Tour 2013? I'm thinking for e.g. "Storms" for Unleashed and "Beautiful Child" for SYW.
I'm thinking "Walk A Thin Line" is a possibility given Lindsey has been playing it solo and that Mick picked it recently as a fave. Also, I think I would soil myself if the band actually did "Dreams"?! But I don't think they'll ever take a chance like that. They play it too safe.

So possibly that. I think there's a fairly good chance we'll hear something that dates back to the BN era to tie in with the 40th anniversary.

Straight Back would be a cool choice as well, but I don't see it happening. Save Me A Place was gorgeous on Lindsey's recent solo tours, and I think it'd make a fantastic addition to the Mac setlist. The Ledge would be a lot of fun. I see Lindsey pulling this one out for his solo shows, but not so much for the Mac.

My guesses are Sisters, Crystal, Stephanie, Blue Letter, and What Makes You Think Youre the One.

I could see them doing Crystal, but turning it into a duet of sorts since both Lindsey and Stevie have sung lead vocals on different versions. I would love for them to throw something rare in there, but if they do something they used to do live (Angel, SOTM, etc) it risks not being as good as previous live versions, and many of the songs they haven't played before just might not work out at all (Welcome to the Room Sara, That's Alright, When I See You Again). However, I would love to see them do Straight Back or Freedom!

I could see Stevie doing a kick ass Angel. I think they like to give Tusk some love now since it's become such a cult classic. I would love for them to pull out something like Crying In The Night or even do a medley of BN songs. Or even a short acoustic set of BN songs the way Stevie did that unplugged section during her Enchanted tour (I loved that so much).

Didn't you mean to say Sister's Of The Moon?

I love the idea of FM pulling "Sister Of The Moon" out of retirement more than what I fear the reality of it would be. I have no doubt that Stevie can still sing the song (basically it's the same chords (Am, F, G, C) as Rhiannon, POTU, Moonlight, etc.) But the missing key ingredient is the angst & menace of a younger Stevie of 30 years ago. I suspect it would be a grasp and probably a huge disappointment compared to her notorious performances of it during the "Tusk" & "Mirage" tours.
With "Storms" & "Beautiful Child" we had nothing to compare those performances with, we were just thrilled and excited because those songs had been beloved for so long and never in a million years did we expect the band would play those beautifully delicate songs live in concert. My vote for a deep cut to resurrect would go to "Straight Back". That and bring back "Angel" and "Seven Wonders". |

I think alot of the choices others have mentioned would be great like I Don't Want to Know, Angel, Sisters of the Moon.
As a way to balance out the set, a song or songs from Mirage, Tango, or even Say You Will would be great since those albums are so poorly represented on FM tours and such. ![]() Last edited by MacShadowsBall; 09-27-2012 at 01:23 PM.. |
