ahh.. I love a Fleetwood Mac day.. that's what I call the day when there's a new release from my favorite band. So far and few between.
Picked all 3 up at the Borders on 14th and F in D.C., and was happy to see them displayed on the top shelf of the new release rack. I figured I would have to go back to the pop/rock section. But, there they were, front and center and I grabbed all 3! $19.99 for Rumours and Tusk, and $11.99 for Fleetwood Mac.. and worth every cent. I just finished listening to Fleetwood Mac and realized again why I love this album so much. I haven't listened to it in a while, and it does sound better than ever. This was the album that my little sister gave me for Christmas in 1976, and I stayed up very late that Christmas night, listening to the album over and over through headphones. Fleetwood Mac became my favorite band that night. Nice packaging and pictures and text (little history of the band). The cd fits into a cardboard cover (they all do..like the Very Best of..) and the cd label is the Reprise label on the album. Nice touch. You even get a Fleetwood Mac official merchandise ad that reminds you to shop early to avoid disappointment (that Mick). :-) Remastered to perfection.. and hoping for this one of dvd-audio.. now on to Tusk! I'm skipping 'Rumours' because 'Tusk' is my favorite FM album, and I can't save the best for last. at least not tonight.. Also, I'm not for sure how this version of 'Rumours' will top the DVD-audio.. which, too me, is perfect. |

My discs will be arriving tomorrow (according to the email I just received from CDUniverse), but I'm kind of surprised to hear that they didn't use the "classic" version of "Silver Springs," as it appeared on the b-side of "Go Your Own Way" (and, of course, on 'The Chain' boxed-set).
I'm also surprised that they used the faded-in album version of "Gold Dust Woman," but used the CD mix of "I Know I'm Not Wrong."

I have the Tusk cd and it is awesome! Had to go to two Best Buys to get it though and they didn't have the Rumours one or the White Album one.
Best Buy only ordered three of each for each store. I looked at the salesman guy and said "You all must have no idea how many FM fans there are out there who've been waiting for this forever"-I got the last one at the Best Buy I finally found it at... The collages-these are Lindsey's work, right? I wish the pic of them were bigger so you could read the writing in the background.. The long Sara is the Cleaning Lady version-I'd hoped it was another version I hadn't heard-but it is beautiful anyway and lots better than the bootleg I've been listening to all these years. I haven't heard the whole thing yet so am going back to listen now. I am so excited to have this cd! |

I can't listen to the fade-in version on VBOFM because it's not on that one. It just adds something to the final version, however small.Glad to know there's someone else out there who looks for it! ![]()

The screams/howls on the end of the remastered "Gold Dust Woman" are a LOT louder to me and more pronounced. It sounds like Lindsey and/or Mick and Stevie doing them.
I am so in love with Stevie's background vocals on the Oh Daddy outtake that I can't even describe. So beautiful. But I know why they were scaled back, they are way too loud. But beautiful ![]() |

Is it me? I always thought at the end of "Goldust Woman" you can hear Lindsey say "Rock and roll will never die." Am I crazy?

I can't put into words how amazing it is to listen to these remastered discs. I'm falling in love all over again with the mighty Mac (yeah, like I ever fell out of love in the first place)!

How about the pics in the white album! Holy cow!!!! And I love the longer Silver Springs, and both GDW's. Who is that woman on Mic the Screecher? Judy Wong? LOL I know Stevie's on there too, but who is the other woman??? |

I'm getting ready to watch some March Madness - go Oklahoma State (my team in the office pool), and I'll be listening to the remastered Tusk album during the games. ( I listen to music while watching sports.. can't get into commentators).
Tusk. I loved this record from the first time I heard it. It was something that I didn't expect at all (after Rumours), and it instantly became a part of my world.. My love for this band was elevated with Tusk... It was all that I listened to.. I was in college and I carried the album everywhere and played it nonstop. I was one of those fans that did take Lindsey's left turn and understood it, and fell in love with Tusk. It remains one of my favorite records. anyways, the music sounds better than ever.. and it is well worth the $$$... This is like my 5th Tusk purchase. I first bought the album (bought 2) , then the cassette, then the CD, and now the remaster. I sure would love to hear this one on DVD-audio. but on the downside. :-( not too crazy about the outtakes, demos disc. I loved a couple - Beautiful Child and Farmer's Daughter.. but i didn't really need 3 I Know I'm Not Wrongs. I listened to disc 2 once, and went back to listening to disc one. The band definitely selected the best versions for the album. imho.. I know I'll wander back to disc 2, and will like it better the second time, but now I'm enjoying the Tusk record again. I'm also a little (just a little) sore at the fact that I know this band must have some original songs they never released but recorded during this time period.. 3 songwriters and this is it.. I just know there has to be some hidden treasures out there.. anyways.. Tusk sounds amazing. Someone said that they made a mix of the Tusk album and included Red Rover.. I can see how it fits.. I can also see how a few other songs from Say You Will would fit into Tusk and vice versa. . Sara just came on. No edit! DVD audio of Tusk , please. :-) |

I agree with you. Outtakes and demos of songs we already have on the official album is nice. But what about the unreleased songs? Like Fireflies or The Dealer? C'mon, guys! That's what we're all *really* wanting. And, of course, all those songs nobody knows about that I'm sure exist.
