^Stevie's hair looks great there.

We had that Stevie and Ugly Men thread, but Iovine doesn't look that ugly in this photo. His face has very nice structure under that cap, I think.

Here is another Quote Jimmy made about Stevie and Lana Del Rey at that event. This is the second time I heard him compare someone to Stevie Nicks. He also compared Lady Ga Ga to Stevie. Stevie obviously had a big effect on his life.

“Lana haunts me the way that Stevie's voice haunted me and I just love her album so much,” he said. “But I can't compare anybody to Stevie Nicks because Stevie has the greatest tone of any female rock singer that I've ever heard.”

He's come a long way since her Behind The Music episode. All I can remember from his parts in that are his eye twitching and bad clothing (was he wearing a baseball cap and tie-dye?). Anyway, he looks to be doing much better (and yes, got rid of the monobrow thank the gods) and Stevie looks adorable!

Los Angeles Times, excerpts from interview with Iovine, February 9, 2012:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/musi...eers-wing.html

Shown to a few hundred attendees of the annual Producers and Engineers party on one of the studio's large sound stages, the mini-doc captured video of Iovine throughout his career: in the studio with Bruce Springsteen recording "Born to Run," and the Pretenders, and Mary J. Blige; standing behind Stevie Nicks during a recording session; and running with Dr. Dre (with whom he founded the line of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones) and Eminem.

Even to those who understand where Iovine, 58, has been couldn't help but be a little stunned by his presence at such important points in recent American music history, one that continues through his work today with Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, and two singer/songwriters who performed for the crowd: Skylar Grey and Lana Del Rey.

Grey's best known for her hook-writing abilities, and sang three of them on piano for the crowd before Iovine jumped onto the stage: Diddy Dirty Money's "Coming Home," Dr. Dre's "I Need a Doctor," and Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie."

After being presented with his award -- and telling a funny story about Diddy one time advising him excitedly that "gifts work!" -- Iovine got straight to the point: He is most at home in the recording studio, and learned everything he needed to know about both professional and personal interactions on the other side of the glass from the artists.

"You really learned protocol," said Iovine, "and the hierarchy of records, and how records are made, and which side of the glass is really important. When you sit there and Stevie Nicks is singing and transports herself to another world, or Tom Petty, you say, 'OK, I can't do that.' But my life got better both professionally and personally with every one of these people that I met."

I completely agree!
Does Warner Brothers have a lifetime contract with Stevie & FM or what ?!?

My boyfriend and me were just talking about this the other day, how Stevie NEEDS to change labels. He is a big Paul McCartney fan and he told me that Paul dropped his label EMI and it was the best move he could have made!

Yes Michele! Maybe Jimmy read my "Stevie & ugly men" thread and decided on a make-over! LOL! (Gone is the uni-brow)

No, they don't, not to my knowledge. FM I believe is currently without a label, going by the things Lindsey has been saying.

When Stevie signed on with Reprise in 96', did she not sign a 3 record deal? If that's the case, In Your Dreams fulfills her contract with Warner/Reprise as well. Stevie very well could also now be a free agent. I sure hope she cozies up to Jimmy & Interscope

i dunno... in Destiny Rules, they were talking about going to Interscope, but stuck with Warner's when that VP schmoozed them at the listening. plus some stuff about Warner's owning their back catalogue. i dunno. i think she and they sort of missed the opportunity to change.... they had the most leverage after the smashing success of the Dance.... i think reprise gave Stevie a good push for TISL, but from SYW on, it's been terrible!
