No, no, no....and no. George (and John) suggested that they "play something like Fleetwood Mac" when they hit an unproductive stretch during the recording of Abbey Road ("Albatross" being atop the UK charts at the time)...what resulted was "Sun King". (and if you can't hear "Albatross" in the intro to "Sun King", time to make that appointment with your ENT doctor)



And, I will contend that there's absolutely no way a composer of a song can cover his own song...sure, somebody else may RELEASE their version of the song first, but the composer's version is NEVER a "cover". Another example, and again a George Harrison song..."Run So Far" was recorded & released by Eric Clapton in 1990...George Harrison's version wasn't released until after his death on his posthumous Brainwashed album. Nonetheless, Eric's version is the "cover"...George's is the original. Always was, always will be.



One thing's for sure, he couldn't have done it any worse.

I think ABC should've stuck with their original decision and told Lindsey to "shove it" instead of let him on the air with that pile o' stinky crap.

If I'd have been in the studio, he'd have been wearing that Renaissance around his neck.

One could ask the same thing about hardcore metal or punk bands, my dear! It's just what they're about. Lindsey likes to distance himself from that Rumours kind of sound and screaming and abusing his guitar is one way to do it. No need to let that affect your lust for him though.

I went to watch the video. Hadn't seen it in a loooong time. The guitar work is spectacular and his vocals are pretty strong. Seeing it again makes me think of Shut Us Down and how he went from soft to BAM to soft again at the end. Pretty cool.

I am not into the Beatles, so I wasn't familiar with the song. I have probably heard it here and again on the radio, but don't really know it.
