Stevie said that she hopes we never forget them as the final words at the Atlantic City show. What the hell does that mean? Is she/Fleetwood Mac not planning on touring again? Is their her touring swan song? I am a little scared by what she said.

I love this band and if there isn't a tour of some sort next summer then I'll be depressed.

So the point of this thread is when do you think we may get another tour/record? Is there any hope for next summer? And on a more depressing note- could this have very well been a farewell tour of sorts?

Another thing I would like to add- for the first time this tour (after doing 130 shows) Mick DID NOT say "The Mac is back". Am I reading too much into this?

Don't Panic...I know it's hard....I think at least Stevie likes performing too much to quit yet...and it looks like Lindsey does, too. Course, i'd rather have the whole band, rather than the separate parts. It was probably just cause it was the last show....gaw, i hope no one is sick or something!! aaahhhhhh, now you made me panic!!!! Just kidding...

Don't freak. He said it last night in Camden and Stevie was grinning like a cheshire cat. They're still under contract for one more record as far as I know. I'm 99.9 % certain they'll tour again but I'm doubting it will be on such a grand scale as this go around. Stevie HAS to put out an album soon. I don't think her label expected her to make this kind of a commitment to Fleetwood Mac. I may be wrong but I think I read somewhere that she was paid a rather large advance for Shangri La and subseqent albums to follow. So far it's just been TISL and we're heading into the year 05'. I think it's safe to say Stevie's feeling the pressure of her label to do something fast even though right now her heart is with Fleetwood Mac and she'd probably like to take a month or two off and then jump back into it with them. We'll hear from Stevie first and perhaps Lindsey (she says with hesitation and reservation yet a sense of hope) but we'll definately be hearing from Fleetwood Mac again. I think for a while it may have been up in the air but as the tour concludes on a high and positive note, the chemistry of the four of them is still there, the music is still as good as ever (even better, IMO) and everyone appears to be getting along so well. That is the deciding factor as to whether or not they'll work together and then tour again. My spidey sense tells me we'll hear from Fleetwood Mac in 06'.

Really? News to me.

I understood Lindsey was first out of the gate next year hence the reason his Soundstage performance has been bumped to season 3 which begins next Spring....

Stevie's probably written stuff... but I'd give her or FM as a whole at least a year before they even think of a new album... So I guess your "spidey sense" would be correct in thinking something in 06... I'd suggest something from SN in the early part of 06 (Feb or Mar) and FM by spring (May or June). Then a combo tour like Mick suggested where they incorporate all the solo stuff along with FM stuff into one concert and then tour it up in the Summer and Fall of 06.

I think Stevie's label is probably not pressuring her really, considering Fleetwood Mac is also on Reprise, they know Fleetwood Mac brings in more money (and truthfully in terms of album sales neither brings in a whole lot)

Some who were athe Camden show and talked to Stevie's neice Jessica in the audience were told that Stevie will be continuing work on an album "shes been working on already" and were told her mom, Lori, plans to do the next Stevie tour.

And according to Forbes they signed a "lucrative" 2-album contract for Say You Will, but doesnt Live in Boston count as the 2nd?

That makes me feel good knowing there is a record in the works and they are already planning a tour. I am really excited for a Stevie solo tour but am dreading the drought of Stevieness between the end of this tour and when her next project/tour comes out.

BUT she also has to fulfill the obligations of her solo contract. At the very least, it's weighing on her own mind. Look at it in terms of this...she's 56 now and in good shape for the most part aside from a bad hip that gives her pain now and then. I believe she has 2 more albums to go. As much as she'd love to do this forever, she knows that there will come a time when she can't...and you can't predict the future.

The only reason they've toured as much as they have...added on random shows like Chumash...is because IMO, they had to recoup a loss they took on album sales. I don't think the numbers they calculated ended up being the numbers they made and who knows what they got in terms of an advance. As far as I know, LIB wasn't the 2nd album. That would be really stupid if it were. To me, that was another way for them to recoup the loss...put out a DVD and add a live album (with only a few songs) and make it a package.

I wonder if she is obligated to do 2 more all new studio albums though? I mean, Enchanted wasn't that long ago, but she has so much unreleased material that conceivably she could just release an album of demo's. There wouldn't be any real pressure on her if she did that, only in selecting the songs to include. Then she could do another original album and that would be that. Then we could look forward to that book and animated film she's been talking about forever!

I dont think its weighing on her mind in a negative way. this is stevies love. she has been with the mac on this tour for a long time, i think its safe to say that she is anxious to get back to work on her solo work, for the love of it , not because she is feeling pressure. the fact that she is 56 doesnt mean she cant get 2 new albums done. the record comp, isnt saying that she has to tour her but off like the tour she just finished with fm. altho we all know stevie does tour with every new album. but i think she loves to do it. i know as you get older, its may be harder to tour, her hip injury, sure, that could be a problem. but i dont see stevie stopping making records just because at some point she may not be able to tour. i think she will always write and release her music til the day she dies and if she cant do a tour, we will still get new music. but im sure she will tour as long as she feels that she can do it. to say she is feeling pressure by the record co cause of her age is like saying well once she fullfills this obligation, she will never have another record contract and we all know stevie is in this for the long haul, at any age. rock on stevie.

I respect Lori's decision to leave the road to raise Jessica, but I'm glad she's finally been deemed old enough to go on tour (or stay with grandma and grandpa ) because I wanna see me some Lori!!! Maybe having the original trio (Stevie, Lori, Sharon) back together on the road will lead to some creative setlist choices? I can dream, can't I?

I don't recall him saying it in Detroit either.
