Where to begin... I flew into Dallas yesterday for the show checking in to the hotel around 3. I got downstairs right before 6 pm after waiting for some other folks from a Stevie list that I'm on. I met so many nice people from the Ledge in such a short period of time in the hotel bar. Christy, I feel like I met you for a nanosecond same with Cliffdweller and I don't even think I met a few people at all. I did get to meet Livia, darklinensuit, strandinthewind and Shackinup (he was here all the way from Holland).
When it was time to head over to the show we drove with some of the Stevie list people who I'd never met before. We quickly realized we were trapped in the garage and someone to decided we were getting out of the garage one way or another. We were in an suv and I was a little wary when this person was offered another seat in the vehicle (not on the "hump") and proudly exclaimed, "I like to hump."
We got to the AA Center which is a nice new venue and I thought the sound was excellent. The band rocked hard, harder than they did in Columbus and this was the first time I actually noticed the second drummer playing on Come. It adds so much to the live sound of the song.
Stevie changed clothes alot, or should I say augmented? She wore an incredible beige duster during Gypsy with beading on the cuffs and something maroon going on on the bottom of the duster. I've never seen her wear this before. It was evident she was in a good mood. She did the little lasso dance a lot but not much else except for those slow spins during Stand Back. She gave me chills during the "take me home" part at the end. She was giving it up for us right there. She donned the tux coat w/ tails for GYOW.
I also observed John McVie getting into it (overtly!) at certain points during the show. I also noticed he uses a pick during ISA.
Lindsey's voice seemed a bit hoarse and I wonder if he was a little feverish. He played his a** off though. To that extent when he was kneeling down on the stage at one point some woman went over and did a full reach around and got herself a handfull of LB's posterior. I don't think he appreciated that too much. He graciously signed some things for the fans in front.
Some people trickled down into the front seats as others were leaving and Livia tried to get Shackinup up there, even telling security that he had come all the way from Holland but they wouldn't budge.
We went back to the hotel and had some food and yes, there was this guy singing a song from the 70's called Popsicle Toes. Anyone remember that little beauty? My uncontrollable reaction to this lounge act was to knock darklinensuit's drink over and later to fling part of my crab cakes at him.
It was great to hang out with and sit next to people who you could just point or say one thing and they knew exactly what you were talking about. I truly enjoyed that. And iceprincess was sitting on the other side of me and this was her FIRST time seeing them.
When I went upstairs, I couldn't sleep right away so I opened the french doors and went on the little balcony and looked at the big curved windows (picture the windows in the If Anyone Falls video) where Stevie's suite probably was and wondered if she ever did the same thing. There was a warm, beautiful breeze blowing and the courtyard was so quiet.
I had an incredible time and I so hope that I get to see all of you again soon.

I KNEW I should have drank some coffe and headed to the bar!!!!!!!!! I would have LMAO with "Popsicle Toes" and the concurrent and subsequent fireworks. Poor darklinensuit - he has one drink a year and it gets spilled and at like $10.00 a cocktail - OY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love hearing about all these sightings of the band. I can't believe you all can compose yourselves enough to actually have a conversation with them. I'm sure I'd be hyperventilating into a paperbag.

But, has there been even one Stevie sighting this tour? What, is she like vaporizing from one venue to the other?!?! Where is that girl?

I'm so glad she's wearing the tuxedo jacket and tails. That's my fave! I thought I was done after the Columbus and Cleveland shows, but I think I'm gonna HAVE TO catch them in Cinncinati too!

THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME!!!! Right before Stand Back, Lindsey was off to the left of Mick (looking from Mick's point of view....over by OUR side of the stage) and Lindsey is like limp looking...his arms were down to his sides, his head was down and he was like moving slowly to the music...moving his feet (I cannot explain how dammit!! Frustrating!!!) and I was like "HOLY FRICK, what is he DOING!!!!!!" It was SO FRICKIN COOL what he was doing!!!!!!!!

Jake...you are a TRIP! LOL Telling me Lindsey was sick and can't play...look, I'll go to his hotel room and sit at the foot of his bed while he croaks out "You can....cough cough....go your own way....HACK!!" and I would be happy!! LMAO!!

I am glad everyone got to hang out together and Brian, THAT TOTALLY SUCKS that the food made ya sick!! Yeah, NO FM stuff at the Hard Rock Cafe......What the frick ever.....that's like SACRILIGIOUS!!!! LOL

I forgot the woman from the center third row whom Chris & I were gawking at. She looked exactly like Stevie circa 1981, from the clothes to the hair (very blond in front, darker with waves in the back). She was the best look-alike of Stevie I've seen.

Wow! All these reviews are great! Lindsey did the same "limp" thing at the OKC show before Stand Back. It must be part of the act.

The Dallas concert was great but the difference I saw between it and the the OKC show was that OKC was very into the new stuff and Dallas preferred the old material. It was pretty interesting to see the difference! My sister and I were up rocking to it all and had a GREAT time! I'm going through withdrawls and seriously considering the St. Louis show!

It was very irritating to have the vendors in the aisle selling stuff and people reaching over you to purchase beer and the other drinks.

We were sitting a couple rows back from what appeared to be Brett Tuggles family. (Excellent seats on Stevie's side) He waved to them and blew kisses to them. They had backstage passes too. I didn't know Kristen was there. Where was she and what did she look like?

Where did you all stay that the band was at?

Enjoy this picture from Oklahoma City :-)

That is a great pic.
I nominate it for inclusion in the Ledge SYW tour book. (We might as well make our own at this point, though I did hear in Dallas that the real book is just awaiting approval from each Mac member. I'm still not holding my breath.)

Hell, by the time that tour book comes out, the twins will be through college and Stevie will indeed be chasing Lindsey around and swinging her walker at him, shaking the old lady fist in the air

Oh, and I opted for no fireworks. I came home from work, logged on here for a bit, got changed, and fell asleep downstairs in the recliner while watching the food tv network...lol....krikey, i'm getting old...lol...

I also forgot to add that they changed the arrangement on WTWCT. I really like it.

Default What Can I Say?...

The show absolutely rocked! I do agree with the comment that the Dallas crowd was basically dead I mean, where's the love? I have to say that of the last two shows I've seen in Dallas, (Stevie's TISL and The Mac's SYW) the crowds have been less than great. I guess I'm just spoiled on going to shows in Austin where people LOVE THE MUSIC more than getting up every five minutes for refreshments. Oh well, go figure...

Now for the good stuff:

Highlights--
"Stand Back"-- This song absolutely ROCKED, I mean I've seen Stevie perform it solo but F.M. added a certain spice to it, I can still see Stevie twirling in my mind (sigh)...

"Silver Springs"-- Even though Stevie didn't add her "never get away, neeeeever get away!" to the end, I was in heaven experiencing this song live, it's always been a favorite of mine.

The wailing Stevie did at the end of "Gold Dust Woman" when she sings, "And go hooooooome!!" I didn't think she'd do this now that she's taking extra special care of her voice, loved it!

Mick-- he definitely added "personality" to the show and livened up the dead Dallas audience too bad it was at the end though.

I also loved it when Mick yelled, "The Mac is back!" and Stevie threw her head back and laughed her ass off, those little candid moments were the best.

Lindsey, where have you been all my life? Now I see why Stevie STILL writes songs about you! LOL!

Yes! Meeting the fellow Ledgies at the Crescent was wonderful! Livia, (your friend Bruce) Strand, Darklinen Suit, Christy, Goldustwoman, shackinup, and anyone else I'm forgetting-- very nice people indeed, I'm glad I got the chance to meet all of you!!

Shackinup, every time we glanced your way you were totally enthralled in the music, I've never seen such an enthusiastic fan reaction before! You reminded me why I'm such a big fan in the first place! Rock On!!!

~*~*~So I'm back...to the velvet...ooh of my office...back to the job...that I don't love..." LOL

I'll have a full kinda/sorta review later, but I wanted to at least talk about my encounter at the pool with Jake and Kimberly Brakely (Stevie's wardrobe assistant). Back in the early 80's, when I lived in LA, Kim's boyfriend at the time and my boyfriend at the time were roommates. I used to see Kim at their apartment occasionally. Well, right after Jake had returned from the lobby to look for the band, this woman came out to the pool who I thought was Kim. I was too shy to say anything to her, but told Jake that if he broke the ice, I'd talk to her. Jake and I were at one end of the pool and Kim starting swimming laps. When she got to our end, he asked if her name was Kim. She said "yes" and Jake said, "Well, she thinks she knows you." LOL I reminded her of our apartment encounters back in the day, she totally remembered and we chatted with her for about 5-10 minutes. I asked her about the "Stand Back Cape Incident" in DC - she said that she was holding out the cape and yelling for Stevie to come get it, but Stevie didn't hear her - thus, the only cape-less performance of Stand Back. LOL Kim was very sweet, as I remember her...

Another tidbit of info - This isn't earth-shattering news, but I'll tell y'all anyway - the tour books are done and awaiting the band's final approval. The contracts for the 2nd leg have been signed and it's just a matter of time before the dates and cities are announced.

Always a pleasure to meet more Ledgies! And I totally agree about the Dallas crowd being dead, the Dallas venue sounding great (but could have been louder) and the meanest security people EVER! I love how Silver Springs has become the 2nd sing-a-long song, w/ Landslide. And ALL the SYW hand motions w/ Stevie, the entire chorus, not just the lasso hand during "get you to dance." I'll explain later....Oh yeah, Don Henley and Nikki McKibbin (from the first American Idol - she's a big Stevie fan) were at the Dallas show.

Need to get caught up on work!

Hi Jake ~

This is Bruce, Livia's friend...it was so nice to meet ALL of you before the show! Stevie fans really are the best fans...

The woman you are refering to is Barbara McLuin. She performs "as Stevie" and has a tribute band that are currently rehearsing. I saw her many, many years ago...

Livia will remember her.

Bruce
