I was watching a tv show and a cheerleader that was a witch was named Stephanie and she was 17 (they mentioned that number a few times) so I had to think if the producers/writer had Stevie in mind!

I wonder if Javier Pacheco was really ticked off last night after Stevie's duet with that other Javier... Fritz had her first!

Please don't hurt me, but I don't think Stevie sounded all that great until about half way through her performance with Javier on The Voice. (I just watched it, yes I am slow) but I got really teary eyed & started crying when she was escorted off stage and the lines "I'm getting older too" were still ringing in my mind. And did you see how she glowed at Javier... she is such a sweet, gentle person. UGH, you guys....

I agree, Stevie was shaky in the beginning, but quickly recovered. I also recall she sounded overly nasally. But as soon as the chorus hit....She began using her more subtle, whispery tone & I had goosebumps till the end of the song.

It must be because Stevie is on a mini vacation. She said in an interview after The Voice, that she was going to the beach (read: Hawaii). Unfortunately it's looking like no new promotion for IYD till the tour begins in August. I suspect this is why the Legde has simmered down.
The new album came out... I LOVE it!! (cannot express enough praise of it) But something feels anti-climatic, and I'm feeling the same disconnect.

I know the answer is yes but isn't it weird to think that other artists have as tight-nit of a community as Chiffonheads like us do? I mean do they? What are their forums like? Do they meet-up at concerts? Who do you think does? I know Prince's fans are hard-core and Tom Petty too. Little monsters? It's just weird to imagine ever being like this with another artist besides Stevie. I do think Stevie has a particular "cult" following and that we are especially special .

Hanson fans definitely have this type of thing.

I think most artists do, really. But each little group of fans is really unique in how they go about things.

So I posted this thought in another thread, but I thought I'd expand and post here.

I would love for Stevie to do a tour in which she performed in small, intimate venues only. Theaters like the Wiltern. It's truly the perfect setting for an artist like her, a performer who likes to make her audience feel like they're "in her living room".

SapphireSister said an acoustic set with Waddy. Now I adore Waddy so I think that sounds almost perfect, but maybe not a whole set. For a while now I've wanted her to do a broken down, acoustic version of Stand Back. I'm just so over the '80s synthesizer sound. I would love to hear this song sung differently, especially with the way she can sing now. She's evolved Rhiannon and Gold Dust Woman, why not Stand Back?

Anyway, that was random. Just thought I'd share.
