You can be a great artist and be in a committed relationship. Her idea that you can't is ancient and outdated. God knows I love Stevie, but she also would not be the easiest person to live with. Would a man really want to be in the mix with Karen, Lori, and the rest of her posse? So, that could have something to do with it ![]()

of course she has a "secret love"! imo his choice was not great, but hey......we all "fall from grace". but "for what it's worth", thru it all, she loves him still. she said that the "ghosts are gone" but we all know that spirits either stay w/ you or return from time to time. so yes.................she has a boyfriend.

we just don't know. she could be that kind of chick that has tried. tried to make changes in her crazy world just for him. maybe she's done this more than once, with a man she truly loves.........but it just didn't work out. i don't like to play the "stevie is stuck in her ways" game all the time. she's a woman and WE ALL KNOW how women change their minds. p.s.........shippers know who my "he" is........i'm just saying. reality......we prob never even seen this guy before. |

Anywho, with SnL, even if they are just playing it up for the audience, I think anyone that has the history they do with each other can't help but feeling that it's real sometimes. I mean, how many times over the years after they broke up do you think Stevie was giving Lindsey the -for real look of love- and wishing and hoping he was feeling it back and maybe he was just looking at her like wow... what a pathetic fatty. I have very shipper like tendencies but I DO NOT believe they would ever really get back to together...it really would be pointless. I believe they have very deep feeling for each other...because they have been through so many ups and downs together and have know each other for sooo long. I don't think Stevie has ragging hormones and wants to jump his bones and I bet Lindsey needs a little male enhancement assistance at times so it's not really about the romantic part now...but it was when they were young and had two beautiful bodies, all in harmony and stuff. Also all the speculation about who Stevie's songs are about is fun but it drives me crazy that for most of them we won't ever know the truth. They could all be about Lindsey and we'll never know...but I have a feeling whoever they are about know and it's probably this crazy little secret and whoever it is thinks - oh my gah, she is so telling all our business and I can't believe she's quoting me - but noone else knows. Crazy.

I don't see the point of the speculation here. None of us can truly know, no matter what we might want to read into her body language during an interview. Stevie is single because she wants to be, that's the bottom line. That's the choice she's made.

Which, honestly, doesn't have to be a bad thing. I don't consider it tragic to be forever single. I do consider it tragic to lack long and meaningful relationships, but that's not true of Stevie--she's surrounded by many different kinds of love. There are probably times when she wonders what it would be to have a husband and children, but I tend to think she likes having Karen live with her, often joined by any number of back-up singers, fairy god-daughters, and old friends. It sounds like a very full life, to me. It seems to hit a lot of nerves around here each time she declares, "I chose to be an artist. Not a wife/mother!" I can see why it would offend some, and she's clearly wrong in saying one can't be both: a number of rockstars are. But it actually doesn't bother me, and I think people are overly harsh on her on this one. First, because her single, female-heavy environment may well be more inspiring and nurturing to her as an artist. Just because some artists aren't creatively impeded by husbands and children doesn't mean she wouldn't be. She might have known herself well enough to feel that she, at least, couldn't do both well. Second, because if she is indeed unhappy and in denial about her romantic life, as some have suggested (not you specifically), why not let her cling to this idea that she chose the only artist's path? Sometimes we all need a couple of delusions. If this idea helps get her through occasional times of regret and loneliness, she's more than welcome to espouse it IMO. ![]() Quote:
Girl, I cannot even believe you've claimed I'm more of a shipper than you! Not even close![]() Anyway, Stevie has admitted that she tends to be inflexible in relationships. In the Crystal Visions Commentary for Stand Back she says something to the effect of, "Like I willow, I can bend. I can be flexible! Except in relationships, I'm actually really not at all. I don't bend..." So yeah, she might be kind of rigid (granted, this is Stevie: ask her again in an hour). But really, I think she has created her own Stevieworld exactly to her liking and probably wouldn't sacrifice it easily. But I agree with you--it's totally possible that she's tried to in the past, but been prevented by something else. She's said she would have given it all up for Joe Walsh, at least--we really have no way of knowing beyond that. And really, that does not make her a bad or selfish person--I think many people actually give too much of themselves in relationships and end up resenting their partner, which might be even more destructive. Stevie has flaws, but everyone else does, including all of the men she's been with. It always puts a bad taste in my mouth when people blame all of her aborted romances of Stevie's limitations. How can we possibly know?

I agree 100% with her that you can't be an artist to the full extent and have a relationship (flings don't count) and/or kids. I've seen too much proof of it for both males and females. Something gives, or gives up. Another common situation that's tough is when you maintain your focus, but your friends and family, who may have other interests, move on to have kids and relationships; it really changes the dynamic of your environment anyway.
