That was sort of expected - typical for the fact that shows like that are very tight with time frames, thus the trucated version. It wasn't her choice.

Yes, I realize. It just didn't settle with my ears because I'm so used to hearing it the original way. I thought, if anything would be shortened, it would be that the instrumental break and the repeated chorus would be cut.

the first thing I said when I saw her on the TV was "seriously Stevie? DWTS, millions of viewers, and you can't find ANYTHING cooler to wear?"

I did love the skirt and the boots.

but seriously, how beautiful would a dance to Moonlight have been - or even Ghosts Are Gone? sigh.

Me too. Her top was like a very boring muted grayish-black and made her look flat chested. Why not something a little more flashy for the occasion. Not over-the-top but more fitting for 15 million viewers. Her hair looked great though.

Imagine if she sung Italian Summer instead of Secret Love.. The Dancing that could've gone on to that..

She looked great! I love her hair as well. I agree she sounded a bit hoarse, but her being soooo into it certainly made up for that!

The whole time my brother sat beside me saying she sounded like a man I don't think he really thought that, he just knows how much I love her and was trying to bug me lol.

I thought this too!!!! I was listening to Moonlight in the car today & it dawned on me that it would have been BEAUTIFUL to dance to for the pros. Ugh, they should have done that, or Annabel Lee !

Mark Ballas' 'Dancing With the Stars' blog

Two words: The. finals. Two more words: Stevie. Nicks. Professionally, an incredible thing happened tonight when we survived this week's semifinal round and were granted entry into the finals.

Courtesy of Mark Ballas

Tuesday was Mark's lucky day not only did he and partner Chelsea Kane clinch a spot in the finals, but he got to meet one of his musical idols, Stevie Nicks.

Personally, an incredible thing happened tonight when I had the pleasure of meeting one of my idols. We'll touch more on that later.

The finals! It sounds so great to say it, knowing that Chelsea and I will be one of three teams competing on the last week of the season for the mirrorball trophy. Every season starts out with the professional dancers gauging their chances to get to the finals, then with the couples setting the goal of being in the last three. Anything truly can happen in the finals. Getting there gets us over a huge hurdle. Now we just need to dance our best and have no regrets.

BLOG: Behind the scenes with Mark Ballas
STORY: Who went home this week?
I'm so very grateful to be back in the finals. This will be my fourth time (having won Season 6 with Kristi Yamaguchi and Season 8 with Shawn Johnson) and my second trip in a row. Last season, Bristol and I made an awesome run, but unfortunately couldn't pull out the win on the last day. We gave it our best and, although we badly wanted to win, we were happy with how we finished. Chelsea and I know that we couldn't have made it this far without the never-ending support of the fans, and your support will inspire us to work harder than ever this week. Hopefully we can bring home that shiny prize for Team Kanenball.

While I want to win, I still feel bad for Ralph. He's the nicest guy and it's been a pleasure getting to know him. He's become a great dancer and overcome a significant injury to make a great run. I'm sorry it got cut short, but I'm glad all of us got a chance to see the side of Ralph that we did — he's a lovely guy. I've known Karina my whole life and definitely feel her pain. Working extremely hard for the goal, only to be eliminated when you're so close is very painful for us, since we've been competing our whole lives. We'll miss you guys.

Taking the "winner takes all" cha cha was a big honor as it was a brand new thing to Dancing with the Stars. Boy, did it feel great to get the recognition from the judges! Did you notice the changes we quickly made in between those cha cha rounds? We switched up the ending after the round with Kirstie and Maks and Chelsea nailed it against Hines and Kym. Those extra fifteen points really helped get us through to next week.

We also were fortunate enough to get the encore dance tonight. This late in the competition, everyone can dance really well and we're all busting our butts (literally) to beat the next team. To be singled out after Hines and Kym received two two sets of perfect scores meant a lot.

Now, back to Miss Nicks. As a musician, there are a few icons out there that truly inspire me and I idolize. Stevie is at the top of that list. I was in awe watching her performances, but was even more shocked after the show when she approached me. Yes, Stevie Nicks approached ME! She told me she was a fan of my dancing and could tell I was a musician based on how I danced. I was at a loss for words, but I was touched that she took the time to say that, and it meant a lot to me. Now only if I could get her to sing a duet with me … that would be incredible.

We have three dances next week for the finals. One of the dances is a routine we performed earlier in the season. The second one is a dance we've had, so Chelsea is somewhat familiar with the principles of the discipline and that should make it a little easier for her to pick up and for us to get to the polishing stage quickly. The last dance is the freestyle, which is easily my favorite. I've had ideas on this one for a long time, and I can't wait to teach it to Chels. Look out finals...here we come!
