Well I just watched it and I must say, Secret Love wasn't as bad as I imagined. She is still singing it too low and yelling too much. Landslide was really great tho!

She was a bit off at first, probably nerves, but I really liked both performances. She looked great despite the fact she's still sick. I think she was awesome.

I thought she seemed a little nervous too.

It reminded me of something she said before performing several years back -
I think it might have been before doing Rhiannon at the piano for
VH-1 but "don't quote me on that."
Anyway, she said, "And if you don't think I'm just - - SHAKING at the knees???
You're WRONG!"

(Or something very close to that.)

I bet it was a combination of her knowing that she's not quite up-to-par yet,
and it being live. (Considering how many millions of people were watching.)

Come to think of it - - Has Stevie ever "gone solo" on live tv with millions of people watching, before this?

I was finally able to see the videos on YouTube. Not the disasater I was expecting. She didn't sound great on Secret Love, but she definitely got better as it went, and it didn't seem to languish as much as some of the other live versions they've done. I actually mostly enjoyed it. With Stevie in full voice, it would have been excellent.

And Landslide was pretty close to awesome, notwithstanding that she still sounds a bit congested. I don't think there's any question as to why it's her go-to TV performance song - it's memorable, always goosebump-worthy, and something she still sounds great on after all these years.

She started did start early, but maybe that was a show request to save time?

I was expecting to be horrified. Aside from some shaky vocals, I thought it was a good performance. She did less miming, and that is a good thing. Way to pimp yourself out, Mama. Sell that record!!
