150k is what I've long forecasted that IYD would sell once you consider Stevie's age, years of inactivity in recording new music, the state of the industry, and consistent bumbling by Warner Bros. It is what it is. At this point, I can't say I see WB releasing another single since sales are so small, and falling off a cliff. I wonder how discouraging this will be to Stevie regarding the possibility of recording again, though?

She needs to get Moonlight all up in the arse end of the next Twilight movie if she's gonna push any more CDs.

At this point of her career, I don't think that is a major factor. I hope she still rides the creative surge she felt while recording with Dave Stewart. After all, she was recently quoted as saying that she didn't care if the record sells -- that she was doing it for herself. She's financially solvent, so money/sales isn't the primary issue! She understands what's going on in the industry-- the drastic changes, along with her age. But she's an artist. Do painters stop painting when no one buys their paintings? No! There is only factor for Stevie not to continue making music. The only reason would be because she isn't inspired, and her muse has waned.

Does anyone know how Stevie's peers have done on their recent album releases, So Stevie's people can put into perspective for her. And by peers I mean other older artists, not just older females.

I'm not really sure if this counts or is what you're looking for, but I'm a huge Reba fan so I know facts about her. Her latest album came out on Nov 9, 2010. It sold 64,174 copies in its first week of release. And according to a chart dated April 2, 2011, the album has sold 254,490 copies in the US.

Yes, her age does play a factor in the sales. However, the largest reason for such a huge drop is the lack of promotion. The only promotion she has done since the release is Ellen. I still have yet to hear the single on the radio or see WB do any promotion at all. If she is well enough to perform shows, why hasn't her Today show appearance been rescheduled? Why isn't she on the late night shows? Why hasn't a second single been released? If they want sales to increase, they are going to need to get the word out there. I can only hope they are scheduling a big week of promotion near the end of May that will create a bump in sales, but I'm not holding my breath. I think it is time Stevie fire WB and her management and find people who know WTF they are doing.

Reba usually goes platinum. She has a built in audience and gets plenty of time on the radio. However, she might of saturated the market. 3 albums in in 3 years. It got lost.

Maybe it hurt a little but I honestly don't think its promotion. I think she needs to get a single on the radio. There is something wrong when Glee seems to really only helped Fleetwood Mac. (maybe it helped her sales a little but doesn't seem so becuase her album down a lot faster then Rumours)

I think a lot of people didn't like her last album, and she has got to find a way of getting people to hear the new material. This album has a lot of singles and yet, no one is picking them up. Secret Love is not going to do for her at all.

I cannot believe that country radio is not embracing some of these songs yet. I remember in the 90s hearing After the Glitter Fades on a country radio station and hearing the announcer say it's his absolute favorite Stevie Nicks song. Hell, Stevie is more country then 40% of country artists. At least she has written some really good country songs. It's time for her to have a hit on country. They play Bon Jovie but not Stevie. Huh?

This woman does not a radio format anymore. Classic rock is basically dead. So is 80s rock. It seems like she has no where to turn and the A/C stuff is blah. People will listen to it but not buy it.

The reason Glee helped Fleetwood Mac and not Stevie was because it was centered on Fleetwood Mac, specifically Rumours. I wonder how many people who went out and bought Rumours went out and bought any other FM albums? Probably very few. Had WB put a commercial for Stevie's album on there tho, it would have definitely increased the sales. People aren't not buying Stevie's new album because they didn't like TISL, they aren't buying it because they don't even know about it. Singles are promotion, and WB lack of releasing anymore is clear evidence that Stevie needs to give them the boot.

I wonder that too, until I realized that buying airtime for a commercial for Glee would of a cost a small fortune. Still, they should of found some way of tie it in. Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits also sold a lot of copies.

Not all singles are positive promotions. A lot of people hear the first single and assume its the best song on the album. If they don't like it, they blow off the album. I just think Secret Love is more for her fans and the rest of the world is not loving it.

Alot of people do know about the album and are not buying it by the way. I've been on twitter and typed in keywords and have been on facebook. The moonlight thing really has not taken off. I remember being in a club when TISL was just out and there were people talking about the album and the overwhelming consensus was MISSED OPPORTUNITY. People were expecting her to pull a Tina Turner and that album had no REAL hits. Had she put this album out then, I'm sure it would of done a lot better than TISL and maybe gotten a lot more knew fans eagerly awaiting her next album.

People don't really know what they are going to get with her. At the Las Vegas show Stevie told the audience "Please give my new CD a chance. I think you will like it.". I wish people would.

I am looking forward to tonight's DWTS appearance with great anticipation. Not only because, hullo, it's Stevie frickin' Nicks! More than anything, it's because this is the make-or-break point for Stevie and this new album. There isn't a larger public platform in the entire country, perhaps the world, for presenting one's music. This is it. This appearance will either resonate strongly with the world and IYD will surge in popularity, or it will do absolutely nothing to stanch the loss of sales over time. And if it really does nothing, then it's game over for this album. And perhaps it may be game over for Stevie's mainstream popularity as well. It is important for people who have not seen/heard from Stevie in many years to be reminded that she is still making terrific music and that she is still an engaging, charismatic vocalist. Given her recent health issues and her erratic live television performance as of late, as much as I hate to admit this, I wish there was a way her performance could be pre-taped or lip synched. There is absolutely too much to lose and everything to gain with this performance. I honestly believe that "Secret Love" does have mainstream hit potential and that if she can sound at least as good as she does on the CD, then it will go over very, very well. I am hoping that Dave Stewart is being called in to help tweak the live arrangement; I have always thought it sounded a little dissonant and flat to me.

Secret Love was a disastrous choice of lead single.

Also, Stevie cares... a lot. Desperation was palpable as she thanked Ellen for the opportunity to push her album and how important it was for her that the album sells. And, by the way, I agree with Stevie (though perhaps for different reasons). I believe that the the popularity of this album is essential for any hope of civilization cotinuing.

I think it's become an expectation -- almost a cliche -- that older rock/country acts reinvent themselves as roots acts to receive widespread attention. It's like the public and rock critics expect musicians, once they reach 60, to strip away all pretense, use minimal instrumentation and sing in a gravelly voice about redemption. Think Marianne Faithfull, Johnny Cash in the Rick Rubin years (and to some extent Neil Diamond, also working with Rubin), Dolly Parton's latest stuff or Loretta Lynn's album with Jack White. Remember that one reviewer that said Stevie should have sung about hard-learned lessons from her past or whatever? That's what I'm talking about.

Stevie is flouting that expectation by releasing a glossy, very produced album (and lead single) that's clearly looking for pop relevance. It's certainly her right to do so, but I think most people don't buy it. I'm not saying whether that's right or wrong. Just the way it seems to be. And that's part of why I think she should release "For What It's Worth" as her next single - it's the most real song on the album.

I think the reason why she doesn't sell so well, is because WB's seem to release mostly the wrong opening singles, i remember hearing Everyday on video hits back in 2001, that song was so bland, dull & boring.. What were they thinking??? so i didn't bother buying that Album TISL, until i discovered the Ledge in 2009, after hearing so many positive comments, i then purchased TISL which is a great album. If only they released perhaps TISL as the first single then POTU after that would of been a much better choice.. Now speaking of IYDs, Secret Love is a good song & i love it, but casual fans or potential new fans obviously have not been blown away with it, so the earlier they release Moonlight or whatever, the better chance the Album will stay highish on the charts a lot longer.
