Right now, for Stevie, it's all about momentum. If Fleetwood Mac can have an album out this time next year that's great. However if they wait 5 years(The Dance until Say You Will) that creative momentum will be lost as will the desire of FM/Stevie fans and the buying public in general.
I do, though, find it strange that Stevie and Lindsey have remained busy since Say You Will. I don't know exactly what Mick and John have been doing. ![]() They should definitely bring in a producer and consider adding a new member or something along those lines. And since this is the Fleetwood Mac forum and not the Stevie forum...If Mick, John, and Lindsey want another Fleetwood Mac they should do it, regardless of what Stevie wants. |

I don't feel like they should get a new member, though.

That would work for me - but I bet it will never happen, Stevie wouldn't be able to stand it being without her so I reckon it will be the 4 of them in the end!

I think if they wanted to do something without Stevie she'd just chuckle and be like 'suit yourself..' However, as someone else mentioned, if Christine was involved that's a whole 'nother story. But really I think they all know they need Stevie, not to make a great album necessarily, but for the commercial wellbeing of the project. And even aside from that, I don't get the hunch that they have any desire to do a project without her, period. Lindsey already has his solo work which he could easily get John and Mick to do stuff on, the whole point of FM is the
But I think Stevie DOES want to do another Mac album - she is, after all, the one who has been mentioning it (although, I DO think her comments are arbitrary and the press is just running with them... I certainly don't think any definite plans have been made, as all of these articles seem to imply). There's no reason not to, apparently she and Lindsey are on great terms [right now] and she keeps talking about wanting to go back into the studio and record asap.

If Stevie were to quit and Mick, John & Lindsey carry on, let's see...Drummer is Mick FLEETWOOD and the bass player is John McVie...therefore, they still have the right to call the band "Fleetwood Mac". There was a "Fleetwood Mac" before her, there was a "Fleetwood Mac" without her, and as long as Mick & John agree to use the name, then ANYONE they get with them as rhythm section could legitimately be called "Fleetwood Mac".

However, legal restrictions aside, I think that not only would Stevie appreciate it if John, Mick and Lindsey didn't call their group "Fleetwood Mac" but the FANS would like that too, to avoid confusion, as would the promoters, etc. Michele |
