Stevie on Ellen - Page 12

I recorded this on the DVR and am now trying to move the file to my computer but will take a while. It is about 6 Gigs! So, I am sure it will take a while to post to YouTube, but will post asap if someone does not beat me to it, but if even so, I will still upload.

humm...I love me some Stevie but she's a little under the weather..the Ellen performance wasn't the best....but she's a sweetie!...she trying hard to sell records...so many other performers in her shoes wouldn't work as hard...she has enough money and fame...she could tour occassionally and make easy money... its a tribute to her

I recorded it today & just watched. I agree she didn't sound 100% but she is still sick. I really wish she had canceled so she could fully recover, but you know the performer's motto, "The show must go on". ..

What I see she was in and out with no interview.I love that dress.She was ok .but still under the weather.That was funny when Ellen busted her stones about been sick on the show.JLo look great too.Come on Stevie get well soon.

Nope. Secret Love does not translate live particularly well. Not to mention I'm still sad at how bad she sounded last time she was on Ellen when she wasn't sick. So I skipped the show and power walked to IYD today instead.

I get out of work at 4.30 the show airs at 4pm .If I came straight home I could of watch it as it was taping.but I stayed at work chatting with my friends about Stevie's Illness.Which my friend has had the same problem that Stevie is suffering with.He said It took about a month or so to get rid of pneumonia.

Agreed. And Secret Love is great live. She did what she could with it today and it turned out alright. atta girl. It was great that Ellen said she could have cancelled but she didnt. my thoughts also.

You didn't miss much imo. It was a total throwaway performance.
Besides the fact that SL does not translate well live, Stevie's annoying pantomimes were on overdrive

I feel bad for feeling this way, but she has many more energetic and enticing songs on IYD than SL that it's driving me crazy. Hell I could easily name 10 songs on IYD I'd rather see her perform over SL. It's just deranged because this album deserves better representation...ARggggg!

Stevie did look cute though, esp in the small after song interview with Ellen, and the red dress was a welcome change, even though it's exactly the same replica of the black one.

As much of a hardcore optimist Stevie fan as you are, I will absolutely take your word for it if you don't think it's up to snuff.

The Oprah performance of Secret Love wasn't so hot either. Her singing "For What It's Worth" acapella on Extra the other day just showcases how badly she needs to pick a new track to promote. That simple little acapella recital was just sublime.

The pics posted in this thread of her on Ellen do look precious, though. I'm totally digging this wavy hair kick she's on.

I agree on all accounts! I like Secret Love more with the album than I did before we had the other tracks, but I just don't think it's a good live song and there are certainly things that could be presented better by Stevie (as that clip of her singing FWIW showcased) and more representative of the quality of IYD.
