BAH I just had this big thing typed up and pressed something on my keyboard and erased it all. Boooo.
Anyway...I tend to agree, that fan sites are usually more slick, more fan-friendly, and have up-to-date tour info and whatnot. I've been completely impressed with what I've come across Mac wise, it's some of the best stuff I've seen out there. I too have not been impressed with the official site, and rarely "pimp" it. I pimp fan sites. I think Warner-Reprise is a little skewered in their thinking anyway, re: the fan site, JT, and being slow as molasses with the release of SYW as a single. I'm a big Barenaked Ladies fan, and they too are on the Warner Reprise label. Their official site (http://www.bnlmusic.com) is barely updated (though it just was), & it's got an out of control message board (though the moderator, who I know, tries her best). So perhaps...it's the label? Another note on fan sites...y'all who host Mac fan sites...I cannot say enough awesome things about you and your talent, I wish I had a smidgen of what you have! Congrats to you and thanks for being so nice to me ![]() Oh, and disEnchanted: I have the following in my bookmarks besides The Penguin (I'm still kinda new 'round here): http://www.burnish.net http://www.sararhiannon.com http://www.fmlegacy.com http://www.buckinghamnicks.net http://www.inherownwords.com and http://www.nicksfix.com because it was a fan site that became official and I think that's just rad...and what should have happened to The Penguin!

Yes www.inherownwords.com is magic, especially for someone just getting into the Mac.

Great thread disEnchanted.
I have a lot of favourites, but my favourite Stevie sites have to be: www.sararhiannon.com www.velvetmoondesigns.com www.sorcererstephanie.com www.charmedhr.com They are all excellent - they have superb layout styles and graphics that I can only ever dream about matching! I find that when it comes to FM and especailly Stevie sites, the fan sites are usually the best because they are really inspired and this shows in the creativity of the site. You have to be a pretty dedicated fan in the first place to want to make a site, but these guys really go out of their way to make them special. And that's enough sucking up from me for one day!! Love Gem
