JUST saw this and had to comment. While I agree that it's irritating when Fleetwood Mac are called "the most incestuous band in rock" I... don't think Stevie and Mick were the only hookup. If you google, there's a load of speculation that something happened with Christine and Lindsey in Switzerland (I thiiink). Although, I don't think Christine would do that to Stevie, I quite like the thought of Christine and Lindsey having an affair, mainly cause their musical chemistry is SOOO good, and I imagine it would spill over into the boudoir.

This HAS to be misquoted.
Stevie is much too classy, and just plain nice to say those outright things about Lohan. I mean, this is the woman who endured a truly "terrible" duet with Taylor Swift, knew it was terrible, and STILL managed to say nice things about her in magazines!!

The interview is probably paraphrased and misquoted to the point of falsehood.

As much as I just said what I said, there's a quote from John that's always intrigued me. It's in one of the docs, either 'Don't Stop' or the Rumours 'Classic Albums', and he says something like 'I think the only two people who weren't at it were me and Mick'.

Now, it could be the way it's been edited, to make it look like a direct response to the voiceover talking about the craziness within the band at the time of Rumours, and that John was actually talking in a wider sense about the FM 'family' or the hedonism of '70s SoCal culture in general, but it's always made me think that, even as exaggeration for comic effect, it's some sort of an acknowledgement that there were other hook-ups?

And yes, I agree that Lindsey-Christine is far more likely than Christine-Mick. And I do wonder about Stevie-John. Even once. Just once?

I could be wrong, but I thought John said he and Lindsey were the only two who hadn't hooked up. So I guess John was sometimes included in those kinky Peter-Mick spooning parties.

Anyway, yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if there were at least one random, drunken hook-up between Stevie and John or Chris and Lindsey. Who was it who said something about how their collective flaw was their tendency to tiptoe into each other's rooms? Something like that. A really affair would surprise me, but a one-nighter wouldn't.

The biggest mistake I ever made was giving in to my friends and going to see a psychiatrist. It was in the mid-1980s, and I had just gotten out of Betty Ford. I was feeling buoyant and saved and fantastic. But everyone said, “We’re sure you’re going to start using again. You should go to a psychiatrist.” Finally, I said, “All right!” and went. I started not being able to get to Lindsey Buckingham’s house on time, and I would get there and everybody was drinking, so I’d have a glass of wine. Don’t mix tranquilizers and wine. Then I’d sing horrific parts on his songs, and he would take the parts off. I was hardly on Tango of the Night, which I happen to love.

The next six years were terrible. Looking back on it, I think this therapist was basically a groupie. He loved hearing stories of rock and roll and he started upping my dose. He watched me go from a beautiful, 125-pound, newly sober woman who had the world at her feet to a 170-pound woman who had the lights go out in her eyes.

Finally, in 1993, I’d had enough. I said, “Take me to a hospital.” I went in for 47 days, and it made Betty Ford look like a cakewalk. My hair turned gray and my skin molted. I could hardly walk. You can detox off heroin in 12 days. Coke is just a mental detox. But tranquilizers—they are dangerous. I was terrified to leave, and I came away knowing that that would never happen to me again.

I learned so much in that hospital. I wrote the whole time I was there, stuff that I consider to be some of my best writing ever. I learned that I could have fun and laugh and cry with amazing people and not be on drugs. I learned that I could live my life and still be beautiful and fun and still go to parties and not even have to have a glass of wine. I never went to therapy again after that—why would I?

Call me crazy , but I absolutely believe that any kind of hook up that could have happened did... Stevie and Christine hooked up with all the boys sometime or another. C'mon now...would you hook up with each of them? I sure would. They each have their own special charm. Although we don't hear many specific details about any hook ups outside of the relationships - other than Stevie and Mick - does everyone know every person you've ever hooked up with?

Maybe my mind ain't right but I rather like the idea of Stevie's promiscuousness - she does it so well - because she's not a ho, rather a woman who was comfortable in her body and herself that she shared herself with many many many mens. A lover of making love. Or a ho. Depends on your view of things. Anyways, you can't blame it on her, blame it on her wild heart.

Amen. I agree with you, especially about Stevie - 'a lover of making love' is an excellent description.

My gripe was really with the way that rumours (yes, that word) have become fact. It is just routinely reported that they were all bed-hopping with each other as if it's all been admitted, when it really hasn't. And while I can totally dig indulging in speculation here on the Ledge, with fellow FM geeks who've read every word these people have ever uttered, I get tired of reading articles that are clearly just repeating previous assertions. But then I kind of do suspect there were more hook-ups than we know about, so now I've just confused myself...
