Listen, it wouldn't shock me in the least to find out that Stevie and Dave are together, or at least were during the making. But it's also possible that they were only ever the dearest of friends. And I tend to think we should avoid shipping a couple while one half is married with kids

I'm really looking forward to this CD a lot. I really like the sound of Secret Love. BUT...I just despise this song.

What's triter than trite? Man, does this song really bite.
Why are they singing this song? It just doesn't belong.

OK, it took me about 12 seconds to come up with those lyrics. I think that's about as long as it took for them to come up with them too. (Sorry, I haven't been following, did they both write it or did Dave write this himself?) Expressing simple ideas simply yet eloquently is an art. It's hard. This song honestly sounds like a 13-year-old sat down and tried to write a song for the first time. And that's all well and good, if this were on a Hanna Montana CD. Stevie's strength is writing spacey, mostly non-linear lyrics that get turned into songs that, in my humble opinion, only she sings well. I think very few of her songs are very coverable, and I don't think she's very good at covering songs in general. In that sense I think she's unique. Only Stevie sounds like Stevie, and when she does someone else, she still sounds like Stevie, except it's not very interesting. So anyway, I'm really hoping this CD is great, but I"m really bummed that this is on it. If she wanted to include a "simple" song to finish, why not that song that she has spoken about as one of her first ones, I've Loved and I've Lost, I'm Sad but not Blue or the Grandfather song or something other than this

OK, I'm done complaining. Just had to get it out. Can't wait for IYD to come out. Hope to see Stevie on tour Sorry for being so negative.

I don't discount your tastes, and you shouldn't discount mine. And most importantly, keep it about the music... leave negative personal comments of other board members to yourself. We're here to discuss the music, not berate each other because we don't have identical taste.

Ok I was more pointing out negativity than making a negative personal comment but its cool Im not one to nitpick.

For me I didnt hear enough of Italian Summer or WSS to be in ecstasy or be dissapointed - I remembered it all you just had to fall - was the only line we heard The other two were a little longer and I heard enough to form an opinion. I can't wait til May 3rd when we will have complete songs to discuss.
