Last night we went to our fav Indian restaurant and I had Beef Samosas and Onion Bhajis to start, followed by a King Prawn Hot Madras curry with pilau rice and some naan bread. Deeelish!

Tonight I am cooking sausages - we have the most amazing local butcher and he wins loads of awards for his sausages and pies. They don't have any rubbish ingredients, only the very finest.

Anyway, I chose his Pork, Whisky and Marmalade sausages for tonight. I am pan-frying them and then I let them cook gently in red wine, fennel, onions and garlic, and serve them with mashed potatoes and peas - and, of course, a very large glass of red plonk.

We just call this dish "Posh Bangers and Mash" !

Trying to finish up my winter comfort foods(and clean the freezer out), I made a pot of gumbo!
Sausage, chicken, shrimp, smoked sausage, tomatoes, onions, okra, and jalapenos. Damn it's good AND spicy!

Tonight I am making Lamb Navarin - it is very tender and very flavourable with loads of herbs but probably not nearly hot enough for The Spice King below!

Thumbs up

Last night I tried something I've never cooked before. On Sundays, sometimes I'll try to make something I've never cooked before. So last night I made an Oven Baked Beef Macaroni Casserole. I got the recipe on-line & my husband & I really like it.

My husband fixed dinner while I was at work and I am now enjoying a piece of grilled tuna with green beans. I could cry it tastes so good. All of my clients showed up today; no dinner break- I am starving!

Comfort food and dishes that are the simplest to cook always taste much better than a lot of the faffy stuff
