Fantasy Springs: Stevie Nicks performs May 13

If you love tambourines, flowing scarves and gypsies, we've got the show for you.

Stevie Nicks (the real one, not the really good impersonator we've seen in the area), will perform May 13 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino's Special Events Center in Indio.

Nicks performed at Fantasy Springs in February 2008 to a sold out audience. Tickets for Nicks' concert are $69, $89, $99 and $109 and go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Fantasy Springs Box Office, via telephone at 800-827-2946 or online at www.FantasySpringsResort.com

This came as a surprise to me. I didn't think she'd start the solo thing until July, after the overseas date in June with Rod.

I guess anything is possible, right?

Stevie is getting her crap together isn't she. She got a lot of things done before the Rod Stewart thing started. That probably took time. She's been doing the video and making a ton of decisions. Now she set on getting her later tour started. She's been a busy gal. It just goes to show me how serious she is about everything. A lot has went into this whole thing. I sorta think that making that album was the fun part.

Do you know how many people it holds?

(Nevermind - just looked it up - 1,000. That is a smaller venue!)

She didn't orchestrate any of that. It's not like Stevie calls up venues herself and says: "can I play there?" That's all up to her management, promoters, record label, publicist, etc. Stevie has said herself quite a few times recently that she doesn't know exactly what her management/record label/etc has in store for her after IYD drops. Stevie did her work by recording the album... she's just kinda riding the wind, now.

Wow, that is small. Has me wondering if Stevie is starting out with some smaller venues to try out new material from IYD. To work out the kinks and get a feel of the newer songs live.

I would LOVE for her to play smaller theatre's (3-5K) all summer long or at least in some markets. Since she and Rod ignored the Denver area market, I doubt that will be the case (smaller venue) for us in Colorado though, which could very well mean another Red Rocks date!

I wonder how much money Stevie takes in from smaller venues after all is said and done. I know that touring is where the money is.
