What's FM's best live song?

As I've posted before, my all-time favorite is the old Rhiannon. More recently I loved Stand Back (though not the super-slick Tango version), and GDW (though I did think the Dance version was overrated). The Chain sounds different but great on every tour (but I will miss Christine).

I would be interested in hearing Lindsey do Oh Well again - I love the Tusk tour version (hated the Billy Burnette version).

(I'm guessing the most popular response to my question will be I'm so Afraid, perhaps followed by GYOW.)

ISA...no doubt in my mind...that song got better and better every tour he did it!! It took on it's own body and soul...WAY back in the day (White Album and Rumours eras), the song was kinda short and to the point. The Tusk era saw it taking a dark turn, the Mirage era saw it growing and getting more and more intense...his OOTC tour saw it as kinda raw and nostaglic. THEN, the Dance tour...HOLY CRAP, it's got muscle and it's kickin' @ss and TAKIN' NAMES!!!!! LOL I am not THAT crazy about GYOW as a live song, it's greatness on Rumours but when they do it live, I dunno, it's awesome, but I'm just like "YAY, COOL, GYOW", whereas with ISA, I'm like "WOOOOOOO, AWESOME, YEAH, SING IT, WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

My second choice would probably be The Chain. The Mirage concert version is the ULTIMATE live Chain, it just KICKS!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I love the photo montage at the start of the Mirage video. The chorus is great, & I love the look in Stevie's eyes as she's glaring at Lindsey.

That video also has the only live version of SOTM I've ever seen. I love it, Stevie at her witchiest/most stoned-looking. I didn't list it as the band's best because I would need to hear other live versions before naming it that.

I'll let you know on Saturday...I have a feeling after the DC show this Friday night, my opinion will change I do like the live version of The Chain from Mirage...without Christine though...I dunno. I'm still pissy about a few of their song choices for this tour....like, you can't do some of them without Christine. Without spoiling anything for anyone, I think you guys know which songs i'm speaking of

In the past it was Rhiannon---from 75-82 that was really awesome.

After that, maybe NTF and Silver Springs. I also enjoy Stand Back too.

If I get to see a show, I guess that will change

My favorite, due to just the amusement and entertainment factor, is Not That Funny. The song itself, especially on Tusk, really isn't anything to get worked up about, but the live versions, holy crap. The first live version I heard was on the Live album from 1980 and I just wondered what the hell was going on. Then I got the Mirage video and got to SEE as well as hear and it's just... crazy, really. I'm such a fan of when he stands there and screams and some of those other sounds that end up coming out... yeah. Good stuff.

Every and any incarnation of that song is always most welcome live. It has the most amazing vibe and energy to it with all of its darkness when it's performed live. It's the one I believe Janis Joplin would love the most.

The version from the 1987 tour (with Billy on vocals & Rick tearin' up the strings)...at least, the recording that is on the B-side of the As Long As You Follow single...is my favorite live version of the song. Lindsey's versions have always been my least favorite of the Fleetwood Mac versions...but, you're on the mark with wondering how Lindsey would approach the song NOW...I've wondered the same thing. I'd be it would be INFINITELY better than how he played it from 1975-1980 (to me, he was just starting to get the hang of the song in 1982)
