Default Dance Remix

FM has a history of offering dance remixes of certain songs. For example, I have heard remixes of Seven Wonders, Sara, Big Love, and some others. Note: I am unsure if these are "official" remixes.

SN also has a history with EO17 and POTU. I think there are others as well.

So, I was thinking, they need to haul in Tracey Young and the others who did the #1 POTU and get one or two from SYW out for the Summer. I think the song SYW could be incredible with the kids at the end doing something throughout the song. The same with EFO and, perhaps RTTG and Smile at You. Miranda, could also be cool in a dance remix.

Also, I think the POTU dance remixes greatly heped TISL and/or in getting SN's name back out "there" and is still played in heavy rotation at dance clubs and dance parties after almost two years.

So, hopefully, they will do one for this record. It certainly could not hurt. My only thought on why they would not comes from LB's comment about the Dixie Chicks' Landslide and how FM is rock and not country. So, maybe he feels the same way about dance remixes. Also, you have to be willing to release some control of the production of the song (but no the release of the final product) to get dance remixes from popular DJ's.

I can't imagine Lindsey would have any real problem at all with dance remixes. With the Dixie Chicks you have the case where that song and their version of it is seemingly more prevalent and popular with at least the younger generation, and either they don't know about FM or they consider this type of country song representative of FM. I dunno - that's what I'm guessing his point is.

As for SYW remixes - definitely Smile At You!!!! As it is, it is practically a bare couple of tracks just begging to be augmented and remixed with a strong beat. I wish I knew how to

Hey, I love the dance remixes, and I'm no dancer by any means! Stevie's "Planets of the Universe" extended album version was kick ass! Can someone please explain why that wasn't on the album itself? What's with these people? Couldn't they spare a couple of more minutes? That whole ending makes that song 100 times better in my opinion.

I know, I love the ending on the extended version. The only thing I can think of is that SN said she wanted to lighten the mood of the song and added new lyrics to do so. So, mybe she thought the whole "I will die a slow death" was just too big of a downer

Actually I don´t like the dance remixes very much. However I do feel that they are appropriate only if they contain extra vocals, lyrics and music. For instance Everybody Finds Out ends way too sudden on the Say You Will album, this track begs for an unedited version, as do many other songs on the album. I know they wanted as much songs on the album, but I feel that a 2 disc set with the unedited versions (instead of those ghastly early fade-outs) would have made it a 5 star album in my opinion!

Greetz,

Marcel.
