The word "dreams" is so overwrought in the Stevie vocabulary, and "In Your Dreams" is such a generic, cliched phrase. Though they were long titles, at least "The Other Side of the Mirror" and "Trouble in Shangrila" were evocative and unusual.
"Italian Summer" is a nice song title, but too specific for an album title. Perhaps a line or phrase from the lyrics of song on the album will lend itself to a great album title. "The Other Side of the Mirror" is the only album where she did that, instead of using an actual song title.

In what instance has that ever happened? I've never heard of or seen an album title criticized. The contents , yes, but not the album title.

is for Stevie Nicks. she's never done it, the upshot is, people who are unfamiliar with her music have probably heard her name. i think it might be the best choice from a marketing standpoint.

I bet the album title will have something do with her experience with making the album.

I think you're right. She's mentioned the great songwriting duos in history... I bet the title will reference somehow this "new" songwriting process in some oblique way. In the past, she's always had her titles set before the album was actually finished (not sure about TISL). Maybe because she wasn't planning on doing an album is why she's hasn't come up with a title yet. I'm more curious about what the cover is going to look like.

Seriously, the fact that I've not heard that in some remix somewhere is suprising. I think Dave Stewart best insert that clip on the album at some point. SERIOUSLY DAVE ARE YOU LISTENING! That would be so b**a**!!!! Could you imagine the album OPENING with that clip. HOT!

Stevie had the album title for TISL all the way back to 1995. It is unusual for her not to have a title beforehand, probably cause she was not planning a new album and went into the writing sessions with only a couple of newly written songs - the New Orleans song & the Soldier's Angel, plus 3 older demo's. Interestingly, album title's that were suggested to Stevie were "Enchanted" by her brother, and TOSOTM was suggested by her manager at the time Tony Dimitriades. Perhaps she will use the title she suggested for SYW; Infatuation, if it fits the material. She does seem to be smitten with Dave and the work that they created together.

And of course after the smorgasbord of orgasmic songs, the album would have to end with "It's the poet that I am."

I like "The Ghosts Are Gone" the best of the song title choices for an album name. Firstly, it does imply a "breakthrough into reality" and also a sense of maturity and clarity in vision. Plus the fact she has said the actually song is a "wild rock 'n roller" would also apply to her lifestyle and career.
Of course, I always thinks it's cooler to not name an album a song title. For FM, I always thought Rumours and Mirage were great creative choices that fits the material perfectly. |

I'm hoping she won't need to call it: "Still I Am a Fool"...
